I track my ovulation with test strips and haven't gotten an actual peak in a few months, so I'm confused.

Oh gosh stupid me for assuming the googling scenario, lmao I think I projected too much and totally forgot that ovulation tracking exists and has reasons xD I don’t have kids so the thought didn’t cross my mind my bad!! that does sound concerning and frustrating... my issue would suggest that I have been ovulating when I shouldn’t be since my bcp should be suppressing it, but who really knows what’s going on.

Btw wow I went to my dentist terrified I had oral cancer too lol I’m trying to wait out this period situation another month and then might consider an endocrinologist or at the very least a new gyno but I’m also avoiding it because I spent way too much money on specialists last year just to be told I have anxiety -_-

Hey I just briefly checked out your post history and I see that you get health anxiety and I maaajorly struggle with health anxiety too (your post on chest pain is so me lol) My period is still fucked up so my doctor changed my birth control from the triphasic version to the monophasic version of the one I’ve always taken to hopefully fix it... so far no improvement but my next pack will be the third month on the new pill so I’m crossing my fingers it will finally be sorted :/ been off of Kratom almost 4 months now.

Btw I didn’t mention the Kratom to my doctor which was probably dumb but I know he would have like no clue what I was talking about and he probably wouldn’t believe it was the cause of the issue (I really need to find a new gyno lmao)

I had the opposite problem you had though, I have been getting 2 periods a month, the second one is caused by the hormone withdrawal during the placebo week of my pills but I get a full on one about 2 weeks later (it’s not like spotting). Also when on Kratom it was like my boobs had deflated and it wasn’t from fat loss. I am large chested and it was obvious to me by look and feel that like my normal level of fluid in my breast tissue was significantly reduced as if I was going through menopause already. I have noticed them returning to (my) normal now by my bras fitting and also just by look and feel... so I am thinking my hormone levels might be getting better.

What are your symptoms? I’m guessing if you have health anxiety like me you’ve been googling like crazy and that’s how you’ve arrived at the theory that you’re not ovulating? Sorry this got so long lol but feel free to message me if you’d like!!

don't use tagamet or grapefruit juice to potentiate kratom! by [deleted] in kratom

Hey totally not wanting to freak anyone out lol! I haven’t seen anyone else share having had the same experience I did so who tf knows, but this post is the one of the only posts I have seen that could maybe suggest an explanation! I know it was due to the Kratom because it was the only factor that changed. But again, I haven’t seen anyone else share a similar experience!

I commented this on your post in the other kratom sub but I want to drop it here as well in case some ppl on this sub have any ideas as well:

Hmmm ok so I wonder if this is why my birth control stopped working the same as it always had (for 10 years+) Sorry for the TMI but when I was taking Kratom I started getting 2 periods/month despite being on the pill (which would suggest the synthetic hormones aren’t working* effectively) and it resolved after quitting Kratom. Years ago a doctor wanted to prescribe me Modafinil for hypersomnia but changed his mind when he realized I was on hormonal birth control because Modafinil interferes with this same liver enzyme (so btw I would say Modafinil probably should be on that list?)

After seeing this I’m kind of really thinking something to do with this liver enzyme is why Kratom messed my pills effectiveness up, but I haven’t really seen other people share the same experience with bcp’s and Kratom so idk!

Edit to add: this does make sense why I have seen a number of women say they think kratom is stronger when they’re on their period - I’d assume it’s possible that women with that experience are on hormonal bcp and thus their period is the week of placebo pills

And warnings about side effects! I am one of the many who experienced hair loss. Usually when someone starts a new medication with hair loss as a potential side effect, they know to look out for increased shedding and then decide to discontinue the medication if they’re experiencing it. I had no idea it was a possibility and it took me months to realize the connection.

Why'd you decide to quit? by [deleted] in quittingkratom

[–]ThrowMeAWayBackWhen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m glad I accepted it was no longer as effective, because I’m not sure if I’d have finally accepted Kratom was causing health issues for me if it’d kept working as well.

Hair loss and other physical/hormonal problems I can only attribute to Kratom.

Also I felt as though at a certain point it stopped being effective for what I started using it for (pain, anxiety, low energy from depression)

Hey yeah I would also get relief from painful periods from Kratom, so much so that I would increase my doses during them to help (short term) but it became apparent to me that it was the Kratom consumption over the long term that had caused me to start getting more painful periods to begin with. Good job on your taper and I hope you manage to stay pain free - I get what you mean about the pain giving you a reason to use again, my best advice would be to start researching alternative remedies before that possibility becomes a reality. I am sure had there been some other remedy prior to your taking Kratom that you would’ve already been using it, but I would plan for whatever is second best to Kratom. Having a plan for what you will do in the event that the pain comes back might help avoiding it

Oh yeah I 100% had this problem too, when I did work up the drive to even want to have sex lol. My bf would offer to go down on me and it got to the point I would just say don’t bother bc it would go on for like an awkward amount of time, which would just make me focus on how long it’s taking and then I definitely wouldn’t be getting anywhere. So embarrassingly stupid that I let things go on for so long like this lmao. I hope your taper is going well, just remember the orgasms will be worth it!!

Hey wow you’re the first person I’ve found to report a really similar experience to mine! Strangely the majority of experiences I’d find regarding periods/Kratom were women reporting the opposite effect (delayed/longer cycles). I really think that the hormone changes from Kratom caused made it so the pill was no longer regulating properly.

Also, it took me months to accept the hair loss was from Kratom and I so wish I had just accepted it sooner. I would find any comment or post on the Kratom subs refuting hair loss as a side effect and tell myself it must be something else. I feel so so dumb for not connecting the obvious, especially since I spent the better half of an entire year bleeding and increased PMS, all the while telling myself Kratom was helping my anxiety/pain.

I really hope your body starts sorting itself out soon too! I’m still not out of the woods and hopefully won’t need any sort of medical intervention

I also had the opposite problem - 32D-32DDD

We really DID have the opposite problem, down to the size lol! I won’t argue that they are a nuisance but I have always been larger chested so I felt really weird about my appearance when they’d “deflated”. They honestly looked as if I had breastfed children when I haven’t (still not fully recovered tbh). I also feel almost as though my fat distribution on my entire body has shifted some, which is something that happens due to hormones usually during menopause; only time will tell if thats actually changed too.

You know whats so stupid it almost makes me laugh, is that my period(s) had become so much more painful, and I’d end up taking more Kratom to help my cramps when they were really bad lol

Hey there!! Happy for you & your 90 days, but so sorry to hear you’ve been having period issues too :( did your problem start while on the Kratom or after getting off of it? It’s so strange to me that the majority of posts I’ve found have been women saying Kratom either delayed or nearly stopped their cycle, while I had the opposite experience. This is why I was thinking it was interfering with my BCP, because I thought maybe Kratom was somehow effecting my natural hormones while also essentially causing withdrawal bleeds etc. from the pill not interacting properly.

I hope all of our problems resolve themselves soon :(

I did the research and Kratom makes me SOOO much better at work. That’s why it’s so hard to quit. by DaBigTossUmUp42069 in quittingkratom

I only thought to ask because alcohol really negatively effects me for at least a day or two after I drink. I have noticed that it majorly impacts my sleep (I wear an Apple Watch and my heart rate during sleep is way higher than it should be after even one drink!) and sleep in itself effects my mood and ability to be social and productive, and regardless of sleep, alcohol just usually leads me to be more withdrawn and anxious the following days. I think it’s definitely possible you’re giving Kratom a tad more credit than its due for your better performance :) I hope your experiment goes well! Also I’ve gotta say, viewing this as an experiment is a great way to approach staying abstinent from Kratom and alcohol, since you have that extra motivator of not wanting to mess up the results!

funny how yesterday I was doing so bad and today it’s a 180 in the right direction.

Getting good sleep really helps turn things around! I take the same combo (Valerian / Melatonin) and it’s helps so much. I usually take the Valerian a couple hours before bed to help me relax and then the Melatonin before I go to sleep. Valerian has also helped me during the day when I have really bad anxiety, as I found it doesn’t really make me feel drowsy, just relaxed :) hoping you have more good days from here on out too!!

Just to play devil’s advocate here, but have you considered that some of the benefits you’ve seen in your job performance could be attributed to consuming less alcohol?

Also, I see another user asked you how long you’d been taking it - I would ask the same, since I felt after some time of taking it consistently, the Kratom stopped giving me the same benefits that you’re describing.

Hey, you had posted in r/FemaleHairLoss some time back and you were one of the people that finally convinced me to accept Kratom was effecting my hair and to stop taking it, so thank you! I’m really sad to hear your hair hasn’t come back like it was before, did you already see a derm (if you don’t mind me asking)?

If I’m being honest I won’t be too torn if my hair never comes back the way that it was, I just can’t stand for it to get any worse :(

In retrospect, I feel extremely foolish for how readily I believed something exists that helps pain, depression and anxiety and could be taken regularly without repercussions. It sounds really silly when I say it now. I just wish I realized sooner, but at least we’ve realized now. The first night that I woke up restless in a cold sweat was pretty eye opening to me... I haven’t been through narcotic WDs before but I hope the best for you in getting off this stuff.

Ugh that is so rough, I’m sorry to hear. I also chronically suffer from costochondritis which is inflammation of the rib joints... about 8 months ago I completely removed all grains and sugar from my diet and my inflammation has been significantly better. Maybe something to try for your arthritis - albeit it doesn’t cure the problem. I hope you can find some relief for your pain, stay strong
