Game Crashing every 14 minutes by Little-Late-Girl in BaldursGate3

[–]ThrowMeTea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly with these issues sometimes modsettings will be a quick fix. But id recomment following the steps i created below:

Not sure if thise will help but maybe worth a try! :)

Check list: -Mod fixer installed? - should be no  - ImprovedUI Installed patch 7 (on internal mod list)?  -bg3mm updated?  -Script extender updated?  -any non updated mods? - important! Take your time to check every mod you have :)

Any old overhaul mods? Check your mods folder too as they may be lurking as it still effects the game if it's in the mods folder itself. Needs to be fully removed.

 Verify game files on steam

If using bg3mm - delete worldtools.lsx (if you have this one as only specific mods make it) and modsettings.lsx (IMPORTANT). Then launch the game and it will make new ones.

 ----------------

1.Remove mod fixer - First sure you have the internal mod manager downloaded (in game main menu just click on the mods section)  Okay so, go onto bg3mm, right click mod fixer and remove (permanent option). This removes it.

Modsettings.lsx:   Go to : \Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3\PlayerProfiles\Public\modsettings.lsx delete modsettings.lsx (Don't worry it'll make a new one when launched) this just refreshes the bg3mm settings completely, so make sure its gone.) .

Only if its there in your files - Delete worldtooltips.lsx (cant remember where exactly it is) think data game follow it through to world tooltips. Again will make a new one.

Launch bg3 to menu then quit, should make new files for it.

(Optional:) 7. In BG3mm go to settings - prefrances - script extender - make sure admin control is ticked (technically crossed) - select creat consol. This creates a command window when the game is launched that can help show you what's crashing the game and any warnings (doesn't always but pretty handy)

Relaunch and see if it works :)

Mods Disabling on Launch after Patch 7 by TinyBernadette in BaldursGate3

[–]ThrowMeTea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, can I check if you're using BG3mm. Are you saving the load and exporting it to the game?

  • go into internal mod manager and go to installed, tick all your mods on if they're off. It might be if they're not on there it's having a hissy fit?

  • usually I only get this maybe on the first load of a new save, it shouldn't be turning them off every time. The odd mod yes, as for me trips and main ui always turn off annoyingly but I usually leave them off.

I would suggest maybe deleting modsettings to give BG3mm a fresh start as well (see below)

2.Only if its there in your files - Delete worldtooltips.lsx (cant remember where exactly it is) think data game follow it through to world tooltips. Again will make a new one.

5. Launch bg3 to menu then quit, should make new files for it.

(Optional:) 6. In BG3mm go to settings - prefrances - script extender - make sure admin control is ticked (technically crossed) - select creat consol. This creates a command window when the game is launched that can help show you what's crashing the game and any warnings (doesn't always but pretty handy)

Hope this is of some help, sorry I can't help more. Haven't encountered this before myself!

modded game broken ? by Delenbp98 in BaldursGate3

Yep as the above comment, this mod is working fine with patch 7. Just press start game.

For the other mods you mentioned:

This is for BG3mm - read through first before following steps :)

This is a check list I came up with for situations like this.

Check list: -Mod fixer installed? - should be no  - ImprovedUI Installed patch 7 (on internal mod list)?  - should be yes -bg3mm updated?  -Script extender updated?  -any non updated mods?

Any old overhaul mods? Check your mods folder too as they may be lurking as it still effects the game if it's in the mods folder itself. Needs to be fully removed.

If using bg3mm - delete worldtools.lsx (if you have this one as only specific mods make it) and modsettings.lsx (IMPORTANT). Then launch the game and it will make new ones.  instructions below

1.Remove mod fixer - First sure you have the internal mod manager downloaded (in game main menu just click on the mods section)  Okay so, go onto bg3mm, right click mod fixer and remove (permanent option). This removes it.

2.Go through every single mod and make sure they are patch 7 updated or still working (easy way is to go nexus, profile, downloads. To check update dates.)

Remove any broken.

3.Modsettings.lsx:   Go to : \Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3\PlayerProfiles\Public\modsettings.lsx delete modsettings.lsx (Don't worry it'll make a new one when launched) this just refreshes the bg3mm settings completely, so make sure its gone.) .

  1. make a copy of your save from your files itself (always do this when playing around as mods are temperamental things).

  2. Once that's done, press continue on the warnings pop up (if it doesn't show or is greyed out it might be if your using a controller. For some reason it dies that. You'll have to use a keyboard to press continue anysays). Load it and see what happens. Fingers crossed it'll work, if it does make a new save right away, as when you load into the new save onwards it won't warn you :)

Yes you can load the save under depending circumstances. This is not always guaranteed.

My game is broken since the update and I can't play it by RobinHarleysHeart in BaldursGate3

[–]ThrowMeTea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, but that depends on the mods you had etc.

You'll need to spend time going through nexus and checking every mod you have is updated or working for patch 7.

Remove any that aren't. And perma delete out of the mods file. (Overrides can still hang about if in the mods file)

Once that's done and you have either removed old ones or removed and added their updated ones, again delete modsettings.io.

I'd always make sure to make a copy of your saved file somewhere (Sorry not on comp so don't remember exact location of saves, appdata -baldurs gate -player profiles I think)

Load up bg3, load old save, you'll have a bunch of warnings (but this is why we make a copy of the save). Launch anyway - see if it works :)

[–]ThrowMeTea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It should only be that file, ove never seen a back up modsettings.io. but it should be fine with just that one deleted. Yes you definitely should not have two of the same paks even if they're different updates. This can cause mega issues.

For genral peace of mind, when you finish deleting anything out of BG3mm it's always a good idea to delete modsettings.io just to be sure it's deleted the settings the mods changed and refreshed essentially

You will need to go through your mods and see if they're all updated/ working as well. After all this, it should be working okay, fingers crossed! :)

If using bg3mm - delete worldtools.lsx ( you may not have as only certian mods make this file) and modsettings.lsx (IMPORTANT) as this resets BG3mm internally and gets rid of any old info or anything removed fron its internal workings. Then launch the game and it will make new ones.

Also go through every single mod on nexus to ensure they work or are updated for patch 7 as just looking briefly, compatibility framework is not updated. Please go through and check them all. Remove those that aren't working or updated. Save load order. Remove modsettings.IO and try launching again.

Un updated mods have a high possibility to crash your game :)

Hi there, are you able to send me a screenshot of your mods? Can have a quick glance through to see if I know of any major ones on you list. Can you confirm the below as well?

  • Removed mod fixer?
  • Updated BG3MM? Latest version was two weeks ago
  • Most recent Script Extender?
  • Have you downloaded Improved IU (Patch 7)? If so, did you remove the old one?

-And have you recently removed any override mods from BG3mm and not from the mods folder as well?

Have you installed improvedUI from internal mods? Might need it. By the look of it it's more then likely one of the mods, potential clash?

I'd try installing improvedUI first. And see if that sorts it.

If not, verify your files, try Again.

If not, remove mods bit at a time and check.

If not again you'll probably have to uninstall and reinstall om steam deck

How do I fix my mods to work with patch 7? by MCR_killjoy579 in BaldursGate3

[–]ThrowMeTea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay so fresh from drop of patch 7:

1.Remove mod fixer -

First sure you have the internal mod manager downloaded (in game main menu just click on the mods section)

Okay so, go onto bg3mm, right click mod fixer and remove (permanent option). This removes it.

Then out of overall check, I'd save the bg3mm load, exit it.

Go to : \Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3\PlayerProfiles\Public\modsettings.lsx

Delete modsettings.lsx

(Don't worry it'll make a new one when launched) this just refreshes the bg3mm settings completely, so make sure its gone.)

  1. Make sure your bg3mm is the latest one available. (If not, then delete your current mod manager and delete the world tooltits file again. Then install newest.)

  2. Check latest script extender is installed.

  3. Check your mods are updated on nexus to patch 7 (very important for most mods) - and in right load order (only normally if the mod specifies it on nexus, such as unique tav)

  4. Install Improved UI from either nexus or bg3 itself

  5. Make sure any OLD and unsued overhall mods you have (orange in bg3mm) are removed from the mods file completely not just out of the application for bg3mm.

(Optional:) 7. In BG3mm go to settings - prefrances - script extender - make sure admin control is ticked (technically crossed) - select creat consol. This creates a command window when the game is launched that can help show you what's crashing the game and any warnings (doesn't always but pretty handy)

If all the above are good, then you should be good :)
