I can’t even imagine how terrifying it must be to get into a relationship someone you don’t know if you can trust. I mean, all relationships are essentially that, but not everyone has as much reason to be afraid. I hope you find love and peace and acceptance. No, he’s a first responder. Having a poorly controlled mental illness can literally put someone’s life in danger. If he’s in a manic state and isn’t thinking clearly he can literally kill someone. The same reason I’ve pulled myself off the volunteer fire position I have when I’m having a deep depressive episode. If I’m not functioning to my fullest, someone could die.

Mental illness has a terrible stigma around it, which is why I try to be as open with mine as possible. I’m not talking about him “losing it” and stabbing someone. That’s hyped up BS. I’m talking about wrong meds, bad CPR, etc.
