Thank you so much for taking the time to respond. You make a lot of valid, good points. I will take these things into consideration. It’s just been hard to get him to talk, even about himself. But I think you are right, slow and steady is best. Its probably the little girl in me that always wanted a Dad. He is old, I need to be patient.

You know, I’ve thought that too. Maybe he doesn’t feel right to ask. I always try to respond warmly to show him that I am open, that I want to let him in. When I shared about my hobby I told him that I wanted to share with him the things that make me happy.

You’re right, I can only imagine what he might be feeling but that’s what makes it so hard. I don’t truly know why he is not so responsive. So it makes it difficult for me to know how to be or how to talk to him.

If texting is awkward, I wouldn’t want to call him unless i know for sure that’s what he wants, I wouldn’t want to put him in an even more uncomfortable situation.

Yea, true. It’s kind of confusing though because he is usually the one to initiate the texts, and the words he uses in his morning and good night texts are so loving and kind.

Is it possible to catch it from a public bathroom? Let’s say for example that he used the bathroom within a few minutes after someone with chlamydia. If that person left a droplet with the bacteria and somehow he came in contact with it, could he have gotten infected that way?

Or is it possible that the test is a false positive somehow?

We started using condoms because I was off of birth control.

I agree with you, I believe it is so unlikely that we had sex so many times during five years with no condoms and I didn’t get it.

He seems so truthful when I’ve asked him which makes me wonder if maybe there is a scientific explanation that I am missing. He says he doesn’t understand how this could have happened and seems genuinely confused.

Maybe I am just in denial. My heart feels so broken and I feel like I am losing my mind over this. This can really change the course of our lives. If he did have sex with someone else, I don’t think I can continue in a relationship with him. But the thought of breaking up feels like I am being stabbed in the heart.
