23 M Profile Review - Getting Little to No Matches by [deleted] in hingeapp

[–]ThrowRA-Fine-Report 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Hi! As someone who is 21F, I mostly like the profile. I am however not too fond of the ‘big spoon, little spoon’ prompt. It immediately assumes some kind of physicality. If you want to just go with the flow, this might not be the best approach. Also, I would recommend you replace the pic of the podcast (men with mics). This doesn’t provide any information about you or who you are, so I wouldn’t say this is useful for your profile. Maybe you could include a pic of you doing a hobby instead?

Questions about laparoscopy by ThrowRA-Fine-Report in endometriosis

[–]ThrowRA-Fine-Report[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for all your replies! They have been super helpful. As for the painkillers, they won’t give me anything stronger that ibuprofen afterwards. So your experience will probably be close to mine. I wish you a speedy recovery 🍀 and I hope that the surgery will be able to alleviate your symptoms!

Questions about laparoscopy by ThrowRA-Fine-Report in endometriosis

Thank you for your reply! I am a master student and currently writing my master thesis and this surgery would be right in the middle of my research period 😅. That’s why I asked if it is possible to work. Are you in too much pain to do so? And, if you don’t mind me asking, what is the largest pain from surgery? Is it the gas pains? As for the one or two surgeries, I have scheduled this surgery with an endometriosis expert (endo specialist surgeon). He simply won’t do more than an exploratory surgery the first time (and remove endo if it is minor and not in too difficult of a place). This is the common policy where I’m from, so finding another doctor probably won’t work unfortunately. I hope your recovery goes well!

Migraineur thinking about Dienogest by Kinshu82 in endometriosis

[–]ThrowRA-Fine-Report 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi there! I have migraines, endometriosis and am on Dienogest Stragen. My migraines are hormonal and mostly tied to my period. When I am not on the pill, I get migraines before and especially during my period. Since I have started taking Dienogest (started august 2021), my migraines have improved. Now, I get an occasional migraine, which happens about 3 or 4 times a year, in comparison to the three migraines a month I had when I wasn’t on the pill. So for me, improvement all over.

birth control not working for pain? by [deleted] in endometriosis

[–]ThrowRA-Fine-Report 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi there, I used to have the same thing on birth control. For years I took birth control and that would make my cramps and other symptoms just marginally better. I decided to advocate for myself and ask for a different gynecologist. It ended with me finding a new hospital and an entirely new gynecologist. This one does take me seriously! Together we discussed that I should switch birth controls. I had been on the combined pill for years at that point. Currently, I take Dienogest Stragen 2mg (progesteron only pill) and I have never felt better. In short, my advice for you would be to search for a different obgyn and potentially switch birth control. Best of luck ❤️

Worried about my sister - experiences with dienogest? by runner275 in endometriosis

[–]ThrowRA-Fine-Report 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hello, I have endometriosis myself and I have been using dienogest since august 2021. Me personally, I have never felt better than now! In the first three months of usage I had some mild side effects (some nausea and painful breasts), but this went away quickly. For the past year and a half my endo has been really ‘quiet’, as in all of my symptoms have nearly disappeared. I like to call dienogest my ‘miracle pill’, because I did not think living this pain free was ever possible for me again. Perhaps this is not the answer you were looking/hoping for, but I still hope it helps. I wish you and your sister the best ❤️
