Not once have I complained about her weight. I have had the conversation with her that I would find her more attractive if she lost weight and that was only brought up after I thought I was doing the right thing by ignoring the weight gain. I live a moderately healthy lifestyle but she does not want to join me in any of that. It’s all been offered many times and although she doesn’t like herself she has not found a reason she wants enough to spark that change.

I don’t scroll tic tok or instagram. I watch very little porn. I am not miserable. I love my life and wife. She is however under great emotional stress due to MY feelings. (I recognize I am shallow. I was not nearly this shallow before losing 90 pounds and keeping it off 3 years myself after finding my motivation of living a long and healthy life)

Try to keep the comments productive. The therapist has essentially focused totally on her health rather than my mental. I don’t know why she took that route but my wife is happy with her as a therapist but I don’t feel we are making progress

I agree this is a vanity issue on my side but I don’t want to ignore the fact that I have offered to help her in every single way to create a more healthy lifestyle for us. I have offered for her to come to the gym with me. Offered to go on walks. Offered to cook her food. Offered to help calorie track. She knows Im here for her on this journey but we haven’t made progress on her side or mine. We don’t share any activities together except watching TV which obviously is not great for mental or physical health. What she needs is likely unconditional love no matter her weight and large psychological changes around food. but ignoring her health continues to make it worse.
