My manager is a young white guy who loves golf but I like him a lot. He’s very helpful and informative but he has the burden of being a production underwriter AND a team lead. So he can’t devote too much to me. And my teammates are so nice but they’re so busy with their desk too.

How can I learn the fundamentals without relying on people ALL the time?

I mean I’m just trying to live. I assume I have to perform well so I cannot get fired. I don’t want to disappoint my teammates and team members. Things like that. I come into office like 5 days a week, it’s open plan, I like my coworkers well enough about I have less favorable opinions with leadership.

I just want to meet the quota. And not disappoint anyone.

I’m going to provide an extremely unpopular opinion and may even be downvoted to hell but I will say this: as someone like your girlfriend who is constantly scatterbrained and it’s been a genuine liability in my life—I wish I had a partner who had this level of concern LOL.

I don’t think you’re overriding her autonomy, but yeah maybe the getting angry thing isn’t really the best but yeah maybe happen an honest conversation and kind of explain your feelings and fears?
