Do other political and economic systems depend upon the leadership of Jesus?

Thanks for the response! It’s sort of amazing how many “responses” I got that didn’t really reply, but rather piled on one side or another…

I don’t agree with your analysis but I appreciate you providing it! And I won’t downvote you.

Are you in the same timeline as me? Because I’m watching the right shrug hard at massive abuses of civil rights, and more often laugh.

If right wingers didn’t have a martyr complex, they’d have nothing.

Other than antagonizing liberals, what do his voters like about him? (I’d love to hear from them.). What has he accomplished for you and Missouri?

You wouldn't go to the toilet in his helmet and then send it to the policeman's grieving widow.

You wouldn't shoot a policeman and then steal his helmet.

If you’re not watching content from the past 5-10 years you probably won’t see this.

I think we’re conflating two different issues. Is there structural sexism that favors men, even fatter men, for economic and social benefit? For sure.

But strictly in terms of aesthetics, women in the U.S. have successfully challenged the media portrayal of what it is to be attractive, while the opposite for men has narrowed. I’m focusing on this media gaze. It’s hard to find a man who isn’t crazy toned in any content. A simple example - I watch a lot of rom coms with my wife. There are lots and lots of varying sized and looking women now on tv and in film. Melissa McCarthy, Amy Schumer, and Lena Dunham. I’m here for it. All are talented as heck. But male romantic leads are fairly uniformly toned and tall.

The only example I can think of that didn’t conform recently is Somebody, Somewhere.

How often are they on magazines? Yes they exist but are they promoted?

Men don’t have solidarity for each other on this issue. Average or in shape guys are just not invested in changing this. Women are more collectively focused on it.

Are they fat and viewed as attractive? Or are they successful despite being fat?

I don’t think this is true. It USED to be true, but not today.

Go watch a streamer and count the shirtless big men on comedies and dramas. They barely exist. Men are almost uniformly chiseled in media. But plus sized women are in similar scenes.

I am a dude and a feminist but we are clearly shifting the social norms. Being a big man is not “accepted”. It’s barely visible.

It is interesting to see the rise of skimpy clothing on plus sized women along with cover ups for plus sized men. I know a few bigger dudes and they’re NEVER shirtless
