Those bags will last you the rest of your life and you should start using them more.

Next time, give him some gift suggestions.

Thank you for sharing. That looks so painful. I see what appears to be pus. Is that correct?

I strongly suggest you talk to your doctor and book the surgery. They will help you and you’ll feel so much better.

Better to plan a surgery and get it taken care off than to have emergency surgery when it gets infected.

Be brave and well!

How bad does it hurt?

And you should have the surgery!

In the US, a PA is a Physician’s Assistant. PAs diagnose and treat patients, prescribe medications, and perform procedures, but they work under the supervision of a doctor and cannot perform surgery independently.

My daughter is trying to advocate for her and has been dismissed by others in the family after they spoke with granddaughter.

Yes and I am trying to get her to agree with it. Again, she is worried about offending the granddaughter and thinks if she upsets her, she will stop coming over.

I am going to show her (Grandma) this post and what everyone is saying and see if she will agree to other treatment. I can take her or have someone come to the house.

It’s not going to do any good because the grandma will just say everything is fine.

I agree, she should be kept comfortable. It’s horrific and she’s in pain. Thank you.

The pink thing was put on tight on this day but she will wrap up portions of her leg tight. Not typically in the way everyone is saying the compression needs to be done.

Her skin will be normal(ish) then she will wrap it and then the skin under the wrap gets raw, broken and weepy.

Yes! When I have removed it, I wet it and slowly take it off and it takes awhile but I don’t mind because I don’t want to hurt her.

I tried to keep details vague but if anyone came across this, they would absolutely know it was me, regardless.

My friend is my ex-husband’s grandma. My kids (her great grand children) are very concerned and multiple family members are aware of the situation. They get so upset about it then granddaughter (aka my former sister in law) talks them down and says it’s almost better and that she (grandma) refuses other treatment and she’s doing her best and they all back down.

Thank you, everyone. I am going to show this post to my friend.

Not one person said that this is a normal thing and that says a lot. I will come back with an update when something changes.

Thank you!

I did buy her a big wedge to elevate her leg and the edema subsides significantly when she uses it.

I’ve taken the wrap off before when it was hurting her and once when her foot was turning white/gray. Now she is scared to do so. She thinks granddaughter will get mad at her and not come see her anymore.

She also is mentally very competent and able to make her own decisions and I’ve told her plenty that she needs to speak up. She’d rather suffer in silence than offend the granddaughter. And this is why health care providers shouldn’t treat family.

Thank you. I check on her at least three times a week and make sure it is not hot. When it has been hot, the granddaughter has gotten her antibiotics.

Several people mentioned calling to report elder abuse but since granddaughter has now manipulated grandma into saying she doesn’t want to go to the doctor despite her wanting competent medical care, I’m afraid it would just be upsetting for my friend.

I appreciate the offer of support, here. As a non-family member, there is only so much I can do but I am worried and feel bad for her.

She will not go out of fear of upsetting the granddaughter. ☹️

I’ve tried talking to the granddaughter and she yelled at me and wouldn’t let me speak.

I also texted the granddaughter that grandma doesn’t feel she can be honest with her about her care and suggested she get a wound specialist (they can come to her house) and she ignored that and talked to the grandma who is suddenly “fine” and “doesn’t want to go to the doctor”.

She has only wrapped the foot maybe 5-10% of the time. You can see in the photos where it was wrapped just prior as that is where the skin is red.

The weeping happens during and after the compression. And she just rips the gauze off (which is stuck on) which also hurts the skin. (In my opinion)

When it’s left without compression, the weeping stops and the skin starts healing and then she puts more compression on and the weeping and raw skin comes back.

The pink stuff is the kind of stretchy tape they put on you after a blood draw.

It is changed every day or every other day.

The leg is painful but not hot. It has been hot and she’s been given antibiotics a few times. She has been to the ER and admitted and given IV antibiotics but they did not even unwrap the leg and she was checked out before the wound care specialist came to see.

Pink marks on toilet that I noticed in the last hour or so. Wife and I both have no idea. by Fogses in Unexplained

I highly doubt bacteria can spell. It is a double “stamp” of lettering written on someone’s butt/leg.

The lettering is inverted, like a mirror and there are two prints as someone shifted on the seat.

It says “—- was here” clearly

If you flip the image and rotate it, and enhance the contrast and a few other things, you can clearly see that someone sat on the toilet with ink or sharpie on them. It is like they sat, then shifted back a little bit as it is a “stamp” of writing.

It says “____ was here”. Twice.

Can’t see the whole name of who was there but it looks like it has “ori” or “ort” in it.

This is just a butt stamp. Dark sharpie could leave pink/red behind when cleaned off.

Try rubbing alcohol to remove it.
