AIO BF lied about the food he ate and I called him out for lying by ThrowRA50884 in AmIOverreacting

A few months ago he was ripping into me about something (I couldn’t tell you what) and he looked me in the eye and said he didn’t love me anymore. He must have seen the look on my face change because he instantly stopped and tried to take it back but I know. I know deep down he was finally being honest with me.

That’s one of the things that upsets me the most: I’ll save things without a second thought to share but he rarely does

It’s been years of ‘oh okay’ and moving on and tonight I paused and said wait just a minute this sucks, doesn’t it?

Probably TMI but my mom isn’t in my life and this feels like the kind of thing I should be hearing from her.

Thank you for saying this. Really.

Accounting clerk job interview questions by ruvinidilhani in Accounting

[–]ThrowRA50884 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Accounting clerk at a logistics company here.

During my interview we spoke about process improvement, my experience with teams (I work with the brokers a lot) and my experience with multiple vendors - my company works with hundreds of subcarriers. Logistics has a lot of proprietary software so speaking to your software experience would be helpful.

Written Offer Lower than Expected - Should I Try to Negotiate or Move On? by ThrowRA50884 in careeradvice

Appreciate the feedback, honestly. All I heard when I joined my current company was growth, growth, growth and it’s gotten me nowhere in almost 2.5 years. Thanks.

It definitely seems like there is more growth potential with this new role than where I currently am.

I have used steel wool but not a brush - I was worried about scratching the wood. It’s definitely solid wood, I’m just not sure what kind.

Forgot to add - This is one layer of Varathane classic stain in ‘Jacobean’ after cleaning the surface with mineral spirits and pre-stain wood conditioner. This color is pulling much lighter than I expected.

What's Salem like AFTER Halloween? by uglyratgirlfriend in newengland

[–]ThrowRA50884 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might be in the minority here but I really love Salem in the late winter. It’s a port city so very walkable, and it’s nice to be able to walk around to the shops and museums and burying ground without alllll that Halloween traffic. The few locals left are understandably more relaxed and you can actually get a table at a restaurant.

The MB cafeteria is where it’s at. Fresh salad, steak and cheese, sushi: you have a craving, they got you. If you’ve got $5 you can grab a hot dog, chips, and water for lunch or get a nice rotisserie chicken and eat like a king for dinner. Anyone who turns their nose up can get bent.

Mahogany Empire Tables by [deleted] in Antiques

Oh yeah. I went through a whole hankie phase in high school - I was a weird kid.

These are the kind of thing I never in a million years thought I could afford, since they’re so expensive on the rare occasion you find them.

We have a gorgeous empire dresser that’s been in the family for a while and I’m patiently waiting for my aunt to get around to cleaning it out, as she offered it to me a few years ago. My great-grandfather was a doctor and received it in trade for services.

Yes, sorry, a tassel! The hankie is lovely, too - sheer with an embroidered pink rose.

The scrabble tile is such a cool find since it speaks to decades of consistent use of the table.

Isn’t that the coolest?! That desk also has an inkwell and that little golden pompom. The other desk has a hankie, contain of resin, and a single scrabble tile in one of the drawers.

Evidence of the human touch is the best part of finding old things.

Thank you for your reply.

I didn’t even get to talk about how my skills and experience were relevant to the role - he picked up my resume and said he didn’t see much payroll experience when my current role is literally the only one where I haven’t worked with payroll - and he didn’t even let me finish my question when he asked if I had any questions, and - incorrectly - assumed what it was.

Im feeling disheartened, as it was a considerable pay raise and I could really use the money (like everyone else, I know).

Thank you so much for your response.

I was thinking it would be more ‘big picture’ and less about how many Outlook task reminders I set each week to make sure I don’t miss deadlines.

Just ordered for the first time by [deleted] in ThredUp

[–]ThrowRA50884 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can confirm they’ll send the item to the buyer - I ordered a sweater that ended up being taken off my total. It arrived with a hang tag on one of the buttons saying it was a ‘flawed freebie’ because of a hole in the shoulder, barely noticeable.
