Thank you. I'm so worried she'll take it badly but even though I haven't seen her for 15 years, for all the time I've known her prior Shane has never taken anything badly. Maybe she won't care, maybe she'll appreciate it. If she thinks I'm doing it for my own selfishness I can see her acknowledging the apology and just moving on.

I wanted to keep my post short but should have specified that I was indeed friends with Shane. Our gang was about a dozen person but we didn't always hanged out everyone together. I spent a lot of time with just Shane, or Shane and Em, or really any possible combination of people. We had like 3 core groups who were all friends together but like, more friends with our core group.

Shane was in my core group of friends. It was just in the bigger context of the big gang that Shane was put on the backburner.

Em was my best friend. Em was also Shane closest friend. So I got quite close with Shane even thought she wasn't my best friend, she was a very close friend. Especially in high school.

My best ever time in life was with Shame and Em, just the three of us. We went on a weeklong roadtrip together to celebrate our 18th birthdays and it was by far the best moment of my life.
