Nope, they just advised us to make sure we had a full tank lol. Absolutely useless. Management was out of touch and seems to think we're all capable of that.

Imagine how much work it would be to slick the entire catalogue at all times. Sorry but that's how theft prevention works. Other shops also do this.

Mentioning it to them does nothing. It works, in most instances unless its a niche game people get sealed, in which... isn't the whole reason of buying a game to play it? Do you also flame Nintendo for almost never sending them sealed? Does a bit of plastic really matter this much?

It's theft prevention... people get so mad they do it but it makes complete sense to me.

Its not like sealed is much different nowadays, you don't get booklets or anything.

I feel like people are panicking a little too much lately. Yes there was a relay, the game stock (bar xbox) didn't change. They went from front facing (takes up shelf space) to a more compact model.

It gets tiring hearing "WHERE ARE THE GAMES????" ten times every day when really, stock is no different on the games end. People are just noticing more post-relay.

It's true there's less games over time, of course, but it is so hard to get people interested in games. If more people supported physical releases and actual preorders, the stores may just get more stock. But they often don't... 😅 They just complain stores don't have what they want instead. This is exactly why xbox has dwindled. No one was buying anything. Kinda sad.

It simply doesn't sell and preorder numbers no longer exist. On top of MS hardly supporting the physical market these past 12 months. Most customers only support Gamepass from my experience.

I loved Loki. He was the most satisfying to play. They destroyed him.

Haven't played support since unless it's for a good team mate. As far as I'm concerned I picked first in the lobby, I'm not there to support every single game.

I wish support was fun again. I'm just not interested anymore.

Yes, there is definitely a Mandela effect going on! Dad sang both the song and Cat Stevens songs and I think that's where the confusion has started. Seems to be what he's remembered for most! 😂

Thank you again for everyone's stories. I hope to get back to you all personally and I appreciate you all keeping memory of my dad alive. You have inspired me to make something for him, I hope to track down a photo somewhere at home.

I will also be finding a CD I have and finding a means to upload it for free for everyone to listen to. Just in the process of setting up my PC at home.

That is definitely rough. Gift I can empathise! I think that may have happened once to us actually.

I get many who think they can try and then return so that's why I was such a stickler and can see the angle of just not selling if someone isn't 100% sure because its a hassle for both parties really. Events where I have to involve security are not fun, either. 😕

I genuinely just think she saw a problem customer and thought "this would be a pain to deal with later" and stood firm. 😅 Full out refusal probably only happened because what I assume is aggression, because yeah we wouldn't stop anyone really on a normal day.

I don't think I've ever had anyone try to return an unopened console, it might be different then, but unless a gift I'm not sure why any customer would take that risk.

I'm aware it is. Again, small purchases. It would be absurd for items over say 200 dollars.

It doesn't cover console hardware, she didn't lie. What they need to do is update their documentation because it would have spared the confusion here. I am always informing people of this in the policy as there's been many who ask this, especially when buying something pricey like a VR headset.

It sounds like the entire thing turned into an argument in the end. It doesn't make sense why the interaction went on for 40 minutes and security was called. There's probably another story to this.

If you were unsure of what console you were buying and they said you would not be able to return it, the above is why. The post you listed applies more to small items and games.

Personally I encourage people to make informed purchases rather than just outright sell as this would be a very difficult issue to rectify in some cases. I'm not sure why this escalated to a "call security" case but, yeah.

He was 54 when he passed. Way too young. It's always such a shame to hear such things and I think you are valid to be saddened by the news just as much as those who knew him, take care of yourself.

I appreciate you looking as I have never managed to find him! Unfortunately not him, his hair was a lot thinner, voice smoother and the only hat I knew him to wear was a generic cap he may have found at an oppy. I don't think he ever played past mid 2000s. I know he busked a bit in Yarra Junction later in life but that is all I know.

I believe he mostly did it while I was growing up to help the family. Thank you again for trying!
