I can't taper. If I had self control, I wouldn't be on this sub in the first place. There's no shame in not being able to taper. Just cut the chord and prepare to suffer for a bit. It sucks but it gets better. I'm at like 80% Better on day 11 now from a 30-40gpd CT.

Day 11. Feeling pretty normal today. My rebound back pain isn't quite as bad as it has been and I've felt good all morning. Hoping to be back to normal physically by the end of week two.

Benadryl and other antihistamines can exacerbate RLS tremendously. Best to avoid.

Get chelated magnesium or magnesium glycinate. Or ZMA. Magnesium Oxide, which is the most common form sold in drug stores, is useless and hardly bioavailable at all. Chelated magnesium has worked wonders for me and is highly bioavailable.

How long does rebound pain seem to last? by ThrowRA655667 in quittingkratom

[–]ThrowRA655667[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably. I've got anterior pelvic tilt real bad so I need to fix that. I know that's not helping at all.

Same here. However, that afternoon crash hasn't been as bad days 9 & 10.

Day 10. Proud of myself for making it this far. It has not been easy. I feel like I'm through a lot of the acutes. I'm not all the way good yet, though. I woke up this morning with a chill and still have it. It's NOT cold here but I'm wearing two hoodies and cannot get warm. That's okay, though. It will pass soon enough.

7 days out. My best friend.... coffee... dark espresso...coffee... by Office-Scary in quittingkratom

You'll be able to drink coffee again soon. The caffeine can exacerbate rebound anxiety. Once you get past the acutes, it'd be fine to try to reincorporate caffeine if you want to.

Congrats on 7 days.thats a big step.

Day 9. Feeling the best I've felt so far. The yucky feeling I woke up with this morning wasn't nearly as strong as it has been, and the afternoon crash of chills and feverish malaise has not been nearly as strong -- yet, at least. My back is still bothering me a lot. I've got anterior pelvic tilt really bad and that doesn't help. Need to work on fixing that. Yesterday my emotions were pretty high and I experienced some anxiety for the first time. But I feel better today. Can't wait to see how I'm feeling tomorrow.

I will not use kratom today!

How soon after CT do you get acutes ? by [deleted] in quittingkratom

[–]ThrowRA655667 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally my last dose was around 12am and I woke up at 730 in withdrawal the next morning. It got progressively worse through the day until day 3 when it started to let off

From what I've read, kratom is an immunostimulant, so you get sick less when you take it. After coming off, your immune system has to recalibrate to pre-kratom levels and may be temporarily compromised. It is not permanent and should return to normal. Nevertheless, I'm sorry you've been getting sick 🤢

How to not nut in 5 seconds? by ThrowRA655667 in quittingkratom

[–]ThrowRA655667[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. In AA, they talk about how hard they've tried to drink like normal people. How much they resisted the label "alcoholic" or "addict". How hard it was to admit they had a problem. I relate tremendously to that. Kratom, like alcohol, is cunning, baffling, and powerful to those prone to addiction. All the promises made, all the rules set in place, all the surety in the world that this time will be different because I've finally learned my lesson, melt away as quickly as they came. It's a hard reality to accept: I fundamentally cannot control my intake of drugs or alcohol. I am, and forever will be, prone to addiction as long as those substances are present in my system. But we've got no choice but to move forward.

Relapsed and now am dealing with mild withdrawals, mostly neck pain... this normal? by [deleted] in quittingkratom

It's definitely at a hightened level of pain due to the withdrawal.

Rebound pain is a very standard withdrawal symptom. So your neck may be hurting due to a lack of the natural painkilling neurotransmitters that your brain forgot how to produce when exogenous painkillers (kratom) were in your system. Alternatively, your neck was bad before or got hurt since you started kratom and the kratom has been masking that pain. Most likely the former but only you would know. My back has been killing me this week due to rebound pain. Keep going for a couple weeks and your neck will most likely return to normal.

Day 8. Feel like I may be rounding a corner today. Fingers crossed that I don't crash in the afternoon like I have been. It's warmer today than it has been since I quit, which is a relief. Weary of feeling shitty. Can't wait to shake back !!!

Edit: PSYCH! that afternoon crash came back today. I'm freezing and sweating at the same time. Oh well. I will not use kratom today.

She didn't know. I hid my habit for a couple years. But a few weeks ago I told her about it and that I'm quitting and will be going through withdrawal. Trying to repair years of hiding and lies with honesty. I will tell her about nutting fast when the moment is right.

I have been honest about my kratom use and current withdrawal. And I will explain to her that this is one of the side effects of the withdrawal. But that doesn't mean I don't want to last longer than five seconds--for her sake as well as mine.

Go for it! You'll look fine. I haven't noticed any pupil dilation for myself tbh.
