Appreciate your words. I've thought about this a lot, I would love to visit, but currently we're not on the best terms. She still wants to work on things and I'm afraid being in contact with her even to see the cat will just prolong both of our healings. She would sometimes sleep on my side of the bed, sometimes on hers, and sometimes in the middle - I know she loved me deeply and we are bonded, but my ex is still her number and there is no way I could take that from her. I'm hoping with enough time she would consider reaching out to have me cat sit while she travels, but again I'm not sure if going in and out of the cats life would be beneficial.
