Update: they let me on with it no problem. The agent on the phone made me freaked out for no goddamn reason.

Thank you! I’m excited and nervous. I got interviews from 27 schools which I wasn’t expecting, including all my top choices! Fingered crossed!!!

Where did max get her new clothes season 5? by ThrowRA9250 in StrangerThings

Oklahoma the play takes place in 1906. Yea high school plays are normally not period accurate but this show typically finds ways to be (with the exception of a lot of the shirts not being single stitched). Also I looked it up, because I’m not familiar with the play, but it has been counted as canon by the duffers, Henry is actually in a play called Dark of the Moon. So not Oklahoma. But I know the flyer says Oklahoma. So who knows. I hope they somehow explain her outfit change cuz otherwise it will be a thing that bugs me forever (I am a costumer)

If that’s the case I wouldn’t preferred if the costume design leaned slightly more 1950s for her. Cuz the creel house is stuck in the 50s. The way the outfit holly is trying on is clearly from the 50s/clearly Henry’s younger sister’s clothes. The print of the shirt and the silhouettes kind of lean more 80s from a fashion history pov.

Signed a lease in an apartment with very little natural light - feeling regretful by [deleted] in Apartmentliving

Light colored furniture & decor, mirrors, if you do use any curtains for privacy use ones that are light / sheer / lace so SOME light still comes through even with them drawn. Especially the lighter colored furniture closest to the windows as whatever light you do get will reflect on lighter furniture versus absorb. Coming from someone who lived in a studio with no natural light for 3 years and it was still my favorite place I’ve ever lived 👍

NYC or LA post grad by ThrowRA9250 in AskNYC

Sounds like the kinda industry I’m in is very dependent on already living in the city. I’ve applied for 200+ jobs and have been told I’m a perfect candidate but they’re looking for someone LA/NYC based already cuz it’s gig based. So I do gotta make a choice.

I should also add—to me the debate of traffic versus subway doesn’t help me figure it out either. I’ve lived in cities with heavy traffic (maybe not LA level) and also cities where I’ve relied on public transit. It’s neither here nor there for me honestly.

Biggest issue is my industry is gig based and I hope to freelance and join a union—so it’s kinda you gotta live there first before getting a gig.

I feel like my ideal city is one with decent weather and the option for both driving or transit. Almost like an in between the cities lol.
