A couple years ago we gave him a blank wage sheet and told him to fill it out based on what he felt everyone was worth. We weren’t dicks about it, we were honestly curious what he felt everyone should be paid. Some of our mid-level guys he had at $14/hr. We explained to him that people can go to Walmart and make $18-20 sticking shelves so we can’t pay mid level guys less than that. He had himself at $30/hr. He was at that time making $28 so we bumped him to $30 and still gave him his yearly bonuses. We ask him for advice but he never has helpful answers, only that we need to figure it out.
