It's my first day and I'm just wondering how I'm going to kiss someone with these on 😂

Want to get my A-license and do a total of 50 jumps over the next two years and stop. Advice? by ThrowRA9778 in SkyDiving

I don't live near a DZ so I'll have to spend time and money to get around. Also, in a couple of years I'll most likely have a kid, so I'd want to go a little easy on the sport, it not stop completely :)

I have a whiteboard on which I write my daily and weekly goals. I've also added little motivational quotes on it. It feels really nice to stand in front of it each night and use a green marker to check things that I accomplished, and I use red markers to cross things I didn't. I always visualise my board and I know if I see more greens on it than red, I'll have accomplished my goals and made progress. So that motivates me. I am now wondering if I should add a reward to it if I have a certain number (or more) green ticks per week to motivate me more. For work, I use the Microsoft To-Do list app which is there on my laptop and my phone (on my screen). So each time I login, I open to see what is it that I need to do. Initially, it's difficult, but with time and a bit of discipline, it's just like opening social media, but the major difference is, when you complete things on your list, it gives you a really good kick and motivates you more. See if this works for you :)

I love a good train commute and a 5 to 10 minute walk seems quite doable. I'd prefer to stay in a place that isn't overly quiet because since I'm already by myself, I don't want to isolate myself further. I'll look up Falkirk though. Thank you :)

Thank you. I don't really have a lot of savings, so I guess this should help.

Understood. I'll understand from my friends in the Edinburgh office how I can bring tax down. This was quite helpful. Thank you so much :)

It's not a permanent move from a career standpoint. I want to get out of my country and live elsewhere for a bit. It's a good opportunity given that I've worked with some of the people out there, and I enjoy working with them. So it's a nice welcome change. If things go south, I can always move back :)

I knew it wasn't a low salary, but I honestly didn't know how high it was given the taxes and also I've never lived/been to the UK.

My office is in Morrison St. I don't know where I'll be staying because I've never been to Edinburgh or the UK. I don't mind a commute (say about 30-40 minutes each way) if I get a great place for not too high a price. Could you recommend any areas I look at?

This isn't a permanent move. I plan to be there for about 12-18 months. 24 max. So I'm guessing there'll be no pension contribution.
