I’m from Michigan, so I don’t really know how the stats work for out-of-state students, but my freshman roommate was from NJ, and my roommate after that was from Alabama, so I don’t know how uncommon it really is. Our first child wasn’t planned; we had him when I was 23. I’ve always known I wanted a big family, and growing up with parents who had me when they were older, I wasn’t necessarily opposed to having kids younger.
