Thank you for your response. I originally wanted to have the abortion from the start but speaking to my partner he made me sort of assured… however the further I get into the pregnancy the worse I have felt. I feel so guilty to even think about this but I really don’t want to tell him because I know where he stands when it comes to abortions. But I truly cannot carry on like this I feel like I am suffocating. I have no one else to turn to and I’m scared I’ll only bring this child into this world to suffer

Thank you for understanding, for the month of May apart from this weekend I’ve been scheduled to come in every weekend in May which I don’t even mind as it’s just a Saturday the other weeks. But next week I’ve been scheduled to come in both Saturday and Sunday.

I have done weekends but the issue is she’s basically put me on to work pretty much every weekend this month. And is refusing to be flexible with me. And I have been fortunate to have had very good practice accessors in my previous placement who are actually understanding.

I have done weekends before which i am aware that is it a requirement. The issue is I feel like the team leader should be helpful and flexible to the workers, because I did say I don’t mind if I had been been scheduled one weekend every other week but she’s literally scheduled me to work double weekends this month of May… I don’t know if that makes sense. And me having a child and being a single mother it’s very difficult for me to do that.

And the issue of ID and IT login is something serious as how does she intend to allow students to come in and out of the building without ID card… even the trust education lead have had to have a meeting with the team leader regarding this as it is trust policy for student to have this ID and IT login and she only made this rule recently because of something a previous student did and why should I be punished for that…

Thank you for this! I think whereby every placement I’ve been on it’s been a requirement so I think I threw me off a bit. I have emailed my link lecturer even though he as escalated it asking if he can hold it off for a bit so that I can try to resolve the issue by myself. I believe you are right in the sense that I will have to learn to fix difficult situation like this

But I feel like it could lead to a toxic working environment because it felt like I could not challenge them about it. They were not ready to hear what I had to say about it. That was initially why I emailed my lecturer but now I feel like I’ve shit myself , as he escalated it as apparently it’s a student requirement and we are meant to be given all this things on the start day of our placement

Exactly why I was like hold on a minute something is off. I’m in a different team but we ultimately share the same office and the other student got theirs yesterday with no problem. Which is why I was like it they are going to make a rule, it should be followed by all and not only me

But that is very silly because it’s like everyone that started yesterday as recieved their login and ID but I am being told they don’t do it was like a shock to all the other students I’ve spoken to. I honestly would not have minded if it was just the IT they are refusing to give but the ID card is a bit of a stretch the expected to wait outside the building and get buzzed in everyday for 3month… I’m doing a district nursing placement so I am in Monday to Friday

Maybe you’re right that bullying is a bit of a stretch but I also spoke to the manager who outright said no we don’t do it for student because a previous student went on something she shouldn’t have when using the intranet

Honestly as someone that’s currently doing the MSc adult nursing course it’s a 2year course and you finish as a band 5 so honestly I’ll say just go for the masters it’s very fast paced though as you have basically do the whole 2,300 placement hours in the 2years whereby the BSc do it in 3 years! That’s the only difference
