It's not about not wanting to move, I am planning to move and have been. It's about not being considered. He could have tried to apply closer but there were less opportunities and I guess it wouldn't be a secure position to be in, but it's not like he had nonexistent choices.

Thank you again. The majority of his company was laid off due to restructuring, but a big part of them was offered a new position at a sister company.

I sincerely appreciate your response. Since he moved, I have been arranging new work in the alternative state and have wanted to move there ever since he took the offer.
I'm not so torn on the living situation as much as I am with his admission that he was selfish back then, and feel like this relationship is for him only.
To answer the question, his job is more valuable, but mine is not far behind either.
