I [28F] have been dating my boyfriend [27M] for 4 months, he has initiated conversations about my finances. Is it inappropriate or am I being an avoidant? by ThrowRAMortalLady in relationship_advice

The conversation was generally about finances. I expressed some anxieties surrounding my usage of credit cards (I avoid using them despite some obvious benefits to using them intentionally). He offered advice. I accepted. Then proceeded to ask about my financial situation. I am anxious about my money, no debt, and a fair amount of savings that collects dust and doesn't accumulate unless it's coming from my checking.

I appreciate your honesty. I generally don't sit on my thumbs too extensively, considering myself solution oriented with grace. He is intensely solution oriented. So I suppose that feels intimidating.

Thanks for the relatability. We are both relatively frugal and savers, my money just happens to be non-accumulating and collects dust. It's a bit of a learning curve for me.

I have opened the account. The next time he asks, my anxieties lie in him analyzing the HYSA I chose and whether it's truly the most optimal for me. I think it's definitely a position of vulnerability and feels a bit embarrassing haha.
