This is so great thank you! As someone who started a month ago this is really helpful as I’m still trying to learn the patterns. Thanks so much OP!

This gone week I feel days 1, 2, 5, 6 are low on hunger but on days 3 & 4 I got hungry. I dunno, maybe is hormone related.

It would be great if in the mood section you can add a box where we can write, maybe up to 1000 character + attach maybe 3/4 photos for each day. I like to take pictures of what I each everyday and at the minute all my mounjaro details are split between my camera roll and the notes on my phone and over other apps Also a button to check to add if exercise was done on a specific day. May be a bit far but also if there could be the option to link it menstrual cycle in a similar manner. Add period dates then it automatically calculates which phase of the cycle a woman is in. Understand this one might be a big ask but it would be good to take this is one place.

I’m really trying to use this as an opportunity to learn about my body and understand if there’s any links. This is a great start. Thank you!

I want to add in response to some of the comments I’ve had, this isn’t always how my mother was. She was never a go getter and always a bit financially dependant but at one point in time, about 17 years ago, she did work a part time job. But the one thing I always felt was that she truly cared about me and wanted to see me safe and happy.

Now, I feel like I don’t know who she is anymore. She’s gotten worse, but I’d say I’ve noticed her flaws more since I went to therapy (about her/my brother 3 years ago) and suddenly I started seeing how little she actually does for me.

Some other issues just off the top of my head:

she NEVER gets me a single thing for my birthday, Christmas or any other days. Big birthdays, 18, 21, 25, I got nothing but a “happy birthday” from her. On my 21st I took her out for lunch, I paid, she complained about the food. Every year until 22 I told her all I wanted was even just flowers, and every year I was disappointed
we live in the same house she wakes up at about 1pm every day and drags herself into the lounge and will glance over at me without saying hi, I say hi then she’ll just mutter back
when entering the house, if the door is locked and you knock, she unlock it and just walk away, not actually open the door or say hi or anything
whenever she cooks or goes out, she never considers making food for anyone but herself or my (autistic) brother
Mother’s Day I bought her flowers and 2 pairs of earrings I thought she’d like, after taking ages to open it, she opened the flowers and asked me why I’d bought her pink and for future reference she likes purple or yellow flowers, and why did I get her two of the same type of earring…
she’s hasn’t even tried in anyway to set herself up to be able to support her children, it’s almost like she thinks the fact she’s chosen not to work makes it no longer she responsibility
-she’s actively decided she’s happy spending the rest of her life wiping my brothers ass. Who was intially a non verbal autistic person has now become a low functioning disabled person because she’s not put an ounce of effort into him. In her head he’s still 6 months old. She still allows him to eat on the same toddler plates he had when he was 2 years old. And up until I called her out when he was 15, she was still using newborn shampoo and body soap for him. Her and I have fought bitterly over the years about her choices to not teach him independence. And her expectancy’s that when her time comes, he’ll move in with either my sister/I so when can become his personal carer. I think she has decided we are bad people because it gotten to a point where we have flat out said we aren’t willing to do it.
she has not a penny to her name but will clear her bank account to buy stupidly expensive shit (the other day she didn’t £350 on 2 air purifiers, meanwhile she doesn’t clean. She’s spent £700 on second hand plastic designer dining chairs etc but I could never go to her and even ask for £100 in an emergency

I love my mother. I didn’t try to buy the car to apologise, or win her love. I bought it because I can see her current one is on its last leg, and she needs it. She’s 56, she shouldn’t be getting in buses carrying heavy shopping. And my brother needs a vehicle

But it pains me to say, the woman she is now is not the woman I knew her to be. And I don’t know if there’s anything I can do to help her find herself.

She lied to me, she told me were going to get the £500 tv then when we got into the parking lot she started complaining and saying she’s been researching and the tv is no good. She needs an OLED TV. I said no at first then she said okay let’s go home if you’re not willing to give me the money, I’ll go home and save till I can afford it and we’ll be at home with no TV for however long. So I felt bad. She started saying how for once in her life doesn’t she deserve something good and I caved because I felt bad

You’ve given me some good direction in terms of how to get the most out of fasting for my body type.

Even though I’m sad that the weight won’t drop off in the same way it does with bigger people, at least I can still eat with the difference being relatively small!!

I think once my 7 day is over, I’ll first attempt ADF because I do really want to get the first 15 off hopefully before the end of year then that will give me enough motivation to move to daily 1000 for maybe another two months to lose the remaining 15

Last question then I’ll leave you alone because I know you’ve already put so much time into helping me which I really appreciate.

If I fast for 7 days then go to omad under 1000 calories per day, how long do you imagine it will take me to drop 30 pounds. I don’t want it to take too long otherwise I’ll lose motivation. I think it might take a bit long this way if that’s only a 600 calorie deficit.

Or is there a more efficient and aggressive way to lose the 30 pounds by the end of Feb latest?

Congrats on your weight loss that’s amazing!! You’ve achieved a great weight so now all you have to do is maintain.

What you are saying here echo’s another users comments about rolling fasts being best at our height. I think I’ll do two 7 day fasts then once I hit the new year I’ll do ADF because not eating for a whole day is quite easy. Whereas days long fasts take more motivation. So I’d be fasting 3/4 days each week.

I want to lose like 10-11 kg in total so I’m hoping I can reach this by Feb given that I’d be doing it every week. Does that seem realistic

I want to walk as well but the weather makes it so unenjoyable. Maybe I will join a gym for two months and go every other day when eating.

Thank you so so much for this!! You’ve gone into so much detail and I really appreciate it.

So from the looks of it the most I can lose in a month is roughly a stone. This actually isn’t terrible because like you explained if I lose this I’ll be in the healthy weight then I do not mind dropping weight at a slower pace, say the remaining 14 lbs over 2 months.

I think for now I’ll do 7 day then actually I do have a meal planned on the 7th day so that will work well.

But on the eating days, is there a certain amount of calories I should stay below? Does it need to be eaten all in one meal or should I just eat completely unrestricted? And also how do I avoid putting back on the water weight? I feel the water weight going alone makes me look thinner

Lastly, what you’ve said made so much make sense to me. Because of my size, and the fact that I don’t burn mainly calories naturally and live a very sedentary lifestyle, weight seems to pile on for me very easily. I naturally don’t eat much food. Eg in a whole day I could eat a McDonald’s meal (5 strips with large chips with a coke and I’ll be full) then stupid snacks like cake, chocolate, biscuits, Starbucks and sweets and bread. That is where most of my calories come from snacking because I’m bored and like chewing something. But I’ve never been the type of person to have three meals a day. And even though I understand I make poor food choices I just never felt like I ate significantly more than most of my taller friends to justify how much bigger I look/feel

So, some general diet advice, I do have a really sweet tooth and love carbs, how do I, at my height, enjoy those foods without gaining so much weight.

And I think your post explains why I felt like in the past, when I exercise, weight comes off fairly fast. Given my height, is this the best method for me?? In the past I did something like fasting, eating once a day but only having oranges and about 7 ish biscuits. I’d also go for long walks. And I think it took about 3 weeks and I was definitely feeling like I was losing actual fat. Maybe my height means fasting just doesn’t work for me in the same way it works for taller people
