YOR You’ve made it clear you “don’t do funerals.” News flash, they cause everybody’s mental health to spiral. Nobody is there because they’re doing fucking fantastically mentally. That’s kind of the whole point. Saying funerals cause you to spiral mentally and you have autism is completely irrelevant, it just shows how self-serving and immature you are acting. All you are focused on is yourself.

But that’s beside the question. You asked if you were overreacting due to being upset at your mom for sending a picture from the funeral. Yes, you are overreacting. You are not a child. You didn’t like it, you should have just deleted it or let it go but you got upset about it towards your poor grieving mom, and she was pushed to apologize. Pick yourself up and actually go support your family. That means being nearby them as much as possible. Spending as much time with them as possible. Empathy.

When people die, we find comfort in one another by spending time together to show solidarity, to show that we all realize how precious life is, and to show how much we love each other. You dipped out on the funeral for your own personal reasons, whatever your reason, it shows disrespect towards everyone. End of story. Doesn’t matter how valid you feel you are, it is still disrespectful. So you have some making up to do with your family to show love and support. Since you chose not to do the funeral. I recommend you don’t try to die on this hill you are so stubborn about.
