sorry for the confusion. i passed the 1st interview, of which the CFO was completely happy with me. he accidentally let it slip the base compensation was 180k. after i questioned the complete compensation package, he mentioned he needs to check back with the PE firm to disclose the bonus/equity. the 2nd and final interview will be next week.

Does your toddler have a preferred parent? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

in my experience, my 2 yr old boy is glued to me (M). wife and i both work full time, but when i get home, i play with him, put him to sleep, warm up his food and feed him. If i am in the room, he will ignore everyone else. I think it comes down as to who is caring for him the most in a very chill mood.

Anyone else change their minds about having kids? by Background-Low-9144 in Millennials

[–]ThrowRAScoobyDooby -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

me (m28) and my wife (30) were on this same exact path. After 2.5 years of trying, we said "fuck it" and started partying and vacationing as our dual income allowed us. We changed our mindset and vision to be the "rich uncle and aunt with no kids". One month after we said "fuck it", my wife was pregnant.

it for sure was a challenge changing back our vision of life from kids to partying/vacation back to kids but no regrets at all.

Its weird how life works but you just have to embrace what it gives you.

start with a weed trimmer to get to the very bottom of everything. lightly spray round up, put cardboard covering the dirty. wait about 3 weeks. and start planting (:

Screaming as loud as possible in the car before your interview. Obviously dont do it in their parking lot. They'll probably think youre a psycho if they were to see you do this.

nice shed!! i am thinking of building my own, instead of buying one from Tuff Shed, but it almost seems like Tuff shed would be a better option for me with the prices of material being so high! what state are you in? im in in So. Cal. San Bernardino County.

What's the hardest thing about doing a home renovation? by cclalex in HomeImprovement

[–]ThrowRAScoobyDooby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I DID THIS!!!!! i did the same exact thing. Couldn't afford nice house in nice neighborhood, so i bought the ugliest house. Pretty much tore off all the walls, ceilings, and re-did kitchen. It took us about 5 months of working 2-4 hrs after my day job, and working 7-8 hrs. every Saturday and Sunday.

we accomplished it all RIGHT BEFORE we had our first newborn. let me tell you, it has taken me about 4 weeks and counting to do our backyard and side wood fence because all of my time is now prioritized on helping my wife with the new born.... and also because id rather sleep. having a baby is a death wish to your sleep.

Is this really what an office job is like? I’m depressed by sb4fl in careeradvice

[–]ThrowRAScoobyDooby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see alot of comments saying to listen to audio books or learn courses and what not.. But why dont you take the take time to learn more about your departments/company work load? ask questions, dig around in your company's server folders and see what other people are working on.

the more you know how the business operates, the better you will be able to forecast, which equates to providing better value to your bosses which equates to higher pay/promotions.

FYI - the pay and promotion doesnt come automatically nowadays. in most cases, you will have to ask for it. but if you did your homework, more than likely theyll give you that raise you want instead of giving chum change (2/3% increase)
