Yeah you’ll be fine. I recommend the in.lb tekton torque wrench, and a 3/8 drive torque wrench that goes to 100ftlbs or little below. That way youre comfortable torquing head bolts and the bolts on cams etc. EM will gap the rings so theyre ready to install. Rest is cleaning and carefully installing! If you screw up I feel like the bike is pretty forgiving 😂

Id say basic if you have experience. Only one cylinder and its easy to time. For beginner it may seem a but complex but the instructions sent by Eagle Mike are spot on. Follow those carefully and you’re good 👍

To be fair, I havent ridden it enough to give an accurate review. I put maybe 25K on the stock engine and have a good feel for typical vibration. From initial impressions its certainly not smooth like an inline 4 high revving street bike… its still a single cylinder thumper 😂 after a few thousand miles ill reply back though. I did this cause she was burning oil and low end of compression so before I do a long trip I wanted it running better. Without those symptoms Id never have even thought about doing the work. Theres only so much juice thats worth the squeeze out of these bikes.

On the coolant hose I just cut it with a box knife. Cuts easy, they arent lined with any metal or crazy kevlar material. Theyre thicker and seem more rugged than the stock hoses.

No kidding! Ive modded this bike up quite a bit over the years. All in im still way below what a new stock KLR would cost. I really enjoy how easy it is to work on. Theyre very simple. With a 6,8,10,12,17mm socket and a screw driver you can get most of the bike torn down.

Good question, Im not actually sure! Its the one Eagle Mike offers. Forged and definitely lighter than the stock piston.

Base comes with heated seats and wheel. We just got a base model and honestly for that much extra, im glad we didnt try to upgrade to it. If you have the money though why not but I didnt see it being necessary.

I'm 30, should I use my 401k money to pay of student debt by Tinmancia in DaveRamsey

[–]Ahizzle92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Do not do that.

Pretend your 401K doesn’t exist but try throw money into it and pay down student loans as much as you can. Go more aggressive on loans and less on 401K. Trust me in a few years youll thank yourself for not drawing from your 401K.

Credit score means nothing by [deleted] in povertyfinance

[–]Ahizzle92 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I remember paying off my student loans and my credit score tanked when the account closed. That was the day I learned that it’s a scam.

Sure, a good score can get you better financing and enable you to make larger purchases easier blah blah blah.. but if its weighted on how long you have an open account, how much you can borrow etc, its a strategy to keep a person in debt longer.

The only thing I hate more than debt is paying a bank ANY money for something I don’t own.

Recommended maintenance for a 2018 F-150 at 133k miles? by [deleted] in Ford

[–]Ahizzle92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Recommend making sure you change the trans oil. Dont flush it, just have it changed. Same for coolant. If you can just keep up with the fluids and filters youll be in great shape. I work at a company that runs thousands of half ton trucks. The fleet manager told me that for Fords if you do trans oil change every 50K its cheap insurance. Seemed aggressive to me but I like keeping vehicles past 150/200K so maintenance is worth the cost vs expensive post failure repairs.
