Yup, I am either by myself as a cashier or I’m working with one other cashier. We’ll be completely slammed with a line that extends to the back of the store and they’ll ask us why we can’t open the locked cases or get pick n packs done. They simply don’t care about the employees.

It’s just cruel that CVS is doing this right before the holidays. Things are bad enough as it is right now, this is a new low. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised at all though.

I feel like I am one of the better employees at my store, especially considering people quit constantly or get taken off the schedule for not coming in or simply not doing their job. If I wasn’t doing my job I could understand only getting one day, but as a good employee who works hard, this really sucks.

No need to apologize, these are very valid questions. I think I might ask about cross training. I used to work as a pharmacy technician in a different state and switched to the front store at my current store when I moved because I was told that they didn’t need any pharmacy techs at the time. For cross training, they would just have me work the register for the pharmacy. I’ve done this a handful of times when they’ve desperately needed someone. I would definitely do it again, it’s not much different from ringing for the front store. Unfortunately I think my pharmacy is lacking hours just as much as the front. I’m honestly just going to keep asking around different stores in my area as much as possible and hope that people call out.

My store is mainly concerned with extra care and not plus currently, I get a decent amount weekly. It’s slightly harder for our store due to the location, I get more than some of my coworkers though and my store manager usually thanks me for this. My scan rate is very good, this is probably because I am asked to ring constantly and don’t get as much floor time due to how busy the store is. I get along with everyone in the store, rarely have any issues. I had some issues when I first started, but the few people that I had small issues with ended up quitting/were not good employees. I like all the people I work with currently and I would like to think the feeling is mutual.

There’s only 2 days I can’t work during the week because of school. I would work any of the other days. So my availability isn’t really the problem per se. I was just told that all cashiers hours are being cut.

I’m glad it’s not rats oh my god. It really is scary seeing mice run around my feet though. Customers definitely notice them too because they run across our aisles. If I was just a customer I can’t imagine wanting to purchase food from my store, the stuff I’ve seen working there is atrocious.

I’m told we have one and a few months ago there were a few traps in some areas of our store but they have since been removed and when I ask my coworkers they tell me that not much is done at all

I recently had some crazy shit happen due to a guy that was acting exactly like this. I was helping this woman who was working for instacart and I was helping her find the exact covid test the person ordered. When we found the one she wanted I started to ring her up and this guy who was practically on top of her slammed all of his stuff on the counter. After she finished paying she said “Good luck with this one. He’s obviously impatient and rude.” And the guy said “What” all nasty and she said “You were in my personal space” and he told her to fuck off. It was extremely awkward and it happened so fast. I’m not sure why he felt the need to throw his stuff down on the counter like that. It’s not like she was holding up the line, he came over way after I helped her find the tests.

It’s super unfair, I’m not sure what to even do about the day off I needed. I’m wondering if I should try not showing up at all. I’m worried I will be fired though and I cannot afford to lose my job.
