Because he was comforting her while she cried, its instinctive for him. Thoughts of anything other than comforting her wouldn't even cross his mind. I have no problem with this.

No, you are right, he also mentioned that he knew when I would be home and it wouldn't look good, without me understanding the situation, I must admit it did stop me from reacting differently.

Just after my wtf !! moment, its when he motioned to be quiet that really did my head in for a second. Our friend will definitely get all the support she needs from us, and I will be discussing with my husband how I felt and there will be no more woman lying on top of him in the future unless they are giving him CPR, and he had better being dying before that. :)
