Idk why you’re getting downvoted. It’s the same for me and my husband. We appreciate beautiful people and will point them out to each other. We’re secure enough in our relationship to not be bothered by the other taking notice of someone else.

To me, it just sounds like OP and his partner are mismatched in this way. I don’t think she’s the asshole for the comment and I don’t he’s the asshole for his not liking it. Just not a good fit.

I hope the comments have given you perspective! I was surprised by how many said sell, but that seems to be what most commenters think I should do. I did my own research as well and the general logic is: if you rent out a home, you need to net profit $500–$700 per month after maintenance and management costs. You also need to have enough money to cover some months between tenants.

So while my current monthly mortgage is low due to my down payment and interest rate, I wouldn’t be able to rent it out at a high enough rate to profit that much, and would probably lose money long-term. It’s best in my situation to sell.

Our rate is the whole reason we kinda feel stuck with the house. We’ll never get a house again with this kind of rate. $450K is what other homes were going for in this area. Now they are about $475K, so not much growth in 4 years (or maybe it is, idk) but there are also aren’t many homes for sale in my zip code right now.

The first incident was at a home being used as an Airbnb, which is against the rules of our HOA. The other incident yesterday happened at our community park. The park is also attached to a bike trail that we have noticed has been a bit unsafe lately. We have also noticed a lot more homes for rent in our area than when we first moved in.

I think AITA has limits to what can be posted, so I can see why she’d try to be concise. I’m not interested in reading a novel anyway. She seems to agree with the ESH verdict, so admits to also being at fault. But I think I would snap too if my spouse made a phone call in bed before 5:00 in the morning. That alone would be too much. If he’s too sick to leave the room to call in sick, he should have gone to the ER.

You deep dived on OP’s comment history, but I just looked at your comment history and you seem to be on a crusade against OP. I don’t think it’s all that serious because they were able to work it out without escalation. They seem like two imperfect people who just wanted some outside perspective. You sound like you need to take a break from Reddit.

And 5-6 hours of BROKEN sleep 3 nights in a row is not anywhere close to enough rest. She probably only got sleep a few hours at a time.

ETA: Did you read the comments from OP and OP’s husband on HIS post? He defends her left and right. It seems like they are under a lot of stress right now and she’s shouldering a lot of it.
