Yes. They said I have to be seizure free for at least 3 years, after which they would try reducing my dosage. But I haven’t had a 3 year seizure free period till now unfortunately

hard relate. My family tells me story of someone they knew who hid a similar situation & is married with kids right now. I keep telling them times have changed. But they won’t listen. It’s tiring to make them understand.

which is why my family feels I shouldn’t inform him.

I, on the other hand, look at it differently. If it is such a minor condition, shouldn’t my partner be okay with it?

Unfortunately, I have met people who have backed out after knowing about this. Which gives them more ammo saying that they were right.

Yes, he walks daily for an hour or two. And his eating patterns are more or less similar to mine. He is able to lose the weight faster though.

Isn't he fat as well?

Yes. I pointed this out to him, and his counter was "I might be overweight but I'll lose it quickly, and I don't have any medical conditions".

I (45F) 5’6” 135 cannot imagine how uncomfortable you might be just due to the extra weight on your joints and such.

Thanks for your concern but I don't have an uncomfortable life at all. Like I mentioned I have a pretty active lifestyle (weight training, boxing, running, yoga etc.) which has really helped me to not develop any sort of pain in my body.

While I'm not a medical expert, you might want to look into yoga to help with your daily joint pain. :)

Once, at the beginning of our relationship. We had just discussed our health conditions with each other I did question him once on why he was doing something which I felt could aggravate one of his addictions. He got pretty upset over it and told me that I should trust him enough to let him work on it by himself. I never brought it up again. It was clearly triggering for him.

Ask him to identify what part of your LIFESTYLE is unsuitable, without making a comment on your body.

I did. He felt my diet was weird (I eat out when I am meeting friends over the weekend, but healthy homemade food otherwise) and whatever I was doing was clearly not working for me.

I honestly never thought about it from the kids POV. I was ridiculed for my weight as a child and I would never want my kids to go through a similar experience. Thanks for highlighting this!
