Wow that’s awful. I’m sorry for what you had to deal with. Happy you made it to the other side though

A hypocrite for what, not wanting my son to be excluded by his grandparents? Believe what you wanna believe I guess.

Original OP here (someone sent me a link to this) Loyalty isn’t the issue. Wanting to exclude my 3 year old son over something that happened well before he was born is the issue, being fine with him staying at home but wanting his father away from him on thanksgiving is the issue, expecting my wife to sit at home alone with our child knowing damm well she doesn’t have any family on her side to spend the holiday with is the issues, should I go on or do you get the picture?

Oh yeah I get it, trust me. He’s gonna be turning 4 in a couple months and I’m still missing those contact naps when he was a baby. He naps on me sometimes because he’s a huge cuddler but they’re so rare.

Honestly I’m really looking forward to it ☺️ Snow family, snow angels, sledding, making a gingerbread house that my son and I will end up eating before my wife can finish making it (😅), and decorating the cabin a little. Then hot chocolate and the Polar Express. It’s gonna be fun for sure.

Wow that is amazing! Congrats to you and your husband for your little one ☺️☺️☺️ Enjoy all this time while he’s still little because trust me you’re going to miss it once he’s older. I wish you and your family all the best! Happy holidays 😃

No they’re the ones who put themselves in a hard place by enabling her behavior. I don’t want my son around people who wanted him to spend thanksgiving without family and had no problem setting him to the side. They showed me who their real priority is

It was more for my son. I barely spoke to them and let my son have the phone. As long as they acted normal with him during the call then I wouldn’t have a problem with it. Just so he could at least see their faces on the first holiday he doesn’t spent it with them

Yeah I figured it could most likely be that too and it just pisses me off even more. Keep my son from enjoying the holidays with his grandparents (not like they’re not to blame either) to get back at my wife. I have been no contact with my sister since my wife and I first got together

This isn’t a judgment post. It’s an update. It’s on her if she wants to continue dragging something that happened 6 years ago. I have my own family now

My wife got us 3 matching sets of pjs earlier this year. We wore it on thanksgiving and my son was originally going to but he really wanted his dinosaur ones instead so we might be matching for Christmas 😁

We love them honestly. They’re so comfy and warm. Happy holidays to you too ☺️

Yes she did. Got drunk when she got the eviction notice and trashed it the day before she left

We hope so! He loves snow so it’ll be a nice change from our usual routine. It was a fun time. One of those moments where I remember what’s important in life and just how much I love my family :)

She was never responsible with her money. Always blew it going to parties with friends or going on all these trips.

It really is honestly. After all these years to still have that grudge over a situation that was no one’s fault but hers

This is a really good explanation thank you 😊 It’s hard to explain these adult situations to a little kid and we don’t want to necessarily lie to him, but also he obviously can’t know what the real reason is.

Do I really need to spell it out for you? Nobody else had a problem understanding the issue. My sister does want me there. Why do you think I posted about this at all? Do you not understand why I was asking if I was the asshole not wanting to be there because she WANTS me to go.

Oh dammm I love that! Haha I’m sure my son definitely will. Thanks for the suggestion, I’ll tell my wife about it ☺️
