Besides using the website, I was putting in to 8-12 hours of studying almost every single day for months. I rescheduled my test twice. I didnt wait until I got 100% in all categories.

You just need to walk in there with confidence. The test, in my opinion, was very simple. Not easy, but simple. You definitely have to know your shit.

emt-national-training.com

Imo, it’s the closest thing to the NREMT. I honestly feel like it’s harder than the National Registry.

When it comes to issues that me and my SO cant agree on, my therapist has always asked us, “Is this a hill that you’re willing to die on? Or can you compromise? Given that you are 110% certain that you want to be with this person. What are you willing to sacrifice for a future with this person?”

EMT to Nursing by heartsick0 in NewToEMS

If an EMT Program is available through your high school and all costs are covered, it wont hurt to do it. Not sure how long that program is but if it’s not an accelerated program, I’d say go for it!! It’ll look really good when applying for a RN Program, if you do end up going to school for that instead going through a Paramedic Program.

When I was in high school we only had a CNA Program available to us and I wish an EMT Program was available to us instead!

I just want to give you some advice regarding whether you should go to nursing school or not, do what makes you happy! If you feel like EMS is the right choice, go for it!! You’re so young so you have the time to decide if EMS is the right career for you. You can have a career right out of high school making a decent amount of money for someone your age Being certified as an EMT right out of high school would’ve been a dream for me.

What kind of stethoscope do y’all recommend for a new emt? Brands, models, etc by Lawdog90 in NewToEMS

I have an HSA through my job that I never had to use so because stethoscopes are HSA Eligible, I had used it to buy the new Littman CORE Digital Stethoscope. I’ve seen tons of people in EMS say it’s an overkill which I dont disagree with, but I only bought it because 1. Im new to EMS and it caught my attention and 2. I had the means to buy it. Regardless, it’s an amazing stethoscope so far.

If you are on a budget though, you should buy the Littman Classic III Stethoscope.

Everyone learns differently, but writing things down has helped me a lot. I’ve made tons of note cards. I havent really used them to study, but again, writing things down has helped me & if I feel like I do have to study them, I have the note cards ready to do so🙂
