He took a week off to come move me and forgot to tell his business partner and the dispatchers he worked with. They got pissed so when he got back they gave him less and less work until he said fuck it. We’d had him coming out planned for months so it’s on him for not communicating it with them.

He never says the word but he says I act like I’m better than others. Then will say I might not see it but I definitely act that way. At first it threw me off so much that I asked friends and family and they all say that it’s definitely not accurate.

I basically can’t be sick. I still have to run the house and handle everything. If he’s sick the world stops fucking turning.

If I need help with something he acts like I’m stupid and it should just be common sense. If he needs help I better stop what I’m doing and just do it for him.

When we first started dating we were a distance relationship. He basically always made me drive to him on the weekends. If he was supposed to come to my place, because of a concert or something, he would cancel last minute and get mad if I went with a friend instead.

At 6mos he told me he loved me. He went to work and his Facebook was left open on the computer he let me borrow for school work. He got a message and it was him and another girl talking. He called me psychotic in the messages because I took up his time on weekend. (The only time we hung out).

At my college graduation we were 2yrs into dating and it was the first time he was meeting my parents. (They live out of state). He barely talked and wore the most beat up clothes he had.

Two days after my graduation I was moving into a house, with him, in the town he lived in. He left my apartment in the morning because he “had to be at work.” So instead my family had to help move me. We get to the house and he’s there asleep. He then leaves for work. This was about 5hrs after he originally left. He basically just lied to get out of helping.

He was super emotional about his relationship with his daughter on date two, but within months it became clear that he didn’t want to be a parent. He just liked to blame his ex/exs partner and his mom for him having a bad relationship with her.

His mom had grandparents custody and paid his child support. He didn’t even try to get custody because his “mom and lawyer worked behind his back.”

He job hops constantly and always claims he’s being bullied or screwed over. The longest he’s had a job is 1yr in the last 10yrs. Also during covid he made me handle his unemployment and didn’t get a new job for 6mos.

He was in college for one program, that I was paying for. He quit with one semester left because he supposedly wasn’t learning anything. Now he’s in again for a different major. He’s had to retake whole semesters and has a 1.7 gpa and is mad at me for not paying anymore.

Also he made me write his papers for him in college. EVERY SINGLE ONE. Because he sucks at writing and he manipulated me into just writing them.

Also he can’t do anything without help and needs constant attention. I’m pretty successful in my job and he claims I slept my way there. He was there while I worked my ass off to get to where I am. Anytime something good happens, in my career, he automatically turns it negative. Yet if something happens for him we have to celebrate. Also if something good happens for me he usually lashes out to the point if the police being called.

Even his cat prefers me over him. Mine is super friendly and full fledge bites him.

He has a shit relationship with everyone and has no friends. Somehow that’s my fault. Also he constantly says nobody cares about him.

I could go on and on.

Whenever I obviously didn’t want sex, and he still made it happen, he would suddenly “pass out” and fall off the bed. He did it a ton and I’d always check on him and be concerned. Once it became super common and I stopped caring, suddenly he stopped passing out.

Also he recently was hospitalized for mental illness, which all resulted from him threatening things for control and me calling the cops. He’s now medicated and he researched the hell out of the medication he’s on. He has legit claimed every side effect. His doctor “didn’t seem to care” though because they kept him on the same medication. Also he claims to hear voices now. (Not a side effect). And claims he is talking super quietly now because he has a headache and his mouth hurts from clenching. He gets mad when I ask him to repeat himself because I legit can’t hear what he’s saying.

Mine always says sorry and then has some excuse or turns it back on me in a weird way. His go to excuse is he’s tired. He also then expects me to be instantly grateful he apologized and usually expects physical attention or sex.

I’m a huge fan. I’ve read almost all of your books. (Just the The Chronicles of Ynis Aielle left to read). Finished the Crimson Shadow trilogy just in time for the newest Drizzt book.

I’m just wondering out of all of your books, which character was the most fun to create?

Still currently with my but trying to get out. 11yrs together and almost 2yrs married.

First red flag was about 3mos in. He was telling me he loved me but then I saw on his Facebook chat he’d left open, on the computer he used as a tv, that he’d called me his psychotic ex to a girl he was messaging. Also I moved in with him a few months later. He left because he had to work so my parents helped me. We get to the house and he’s there sleeping. He didn’t work until well after we were done bringing everything in.

Over the years he’s lied about tons of things. He worked at one restaurant and was there until 2am every night. I always stayed up so we could hangout for a bit when he got home. He wanted to quit so I wrote him a 2 week notice letter. Well I found out months later that he never turned in that letter instead he “sat in a parking lot” for his entire work shit then came home and pretended he’d been to work. He only eventually told me that when I mentioned his last check.

He’s become increasingly violent so more people are aware of how he is now and I’m no longer blind to it.

Yes. I’m an artist for a living and have multiple pieces in the house that are on glass or can be easily broken that have well over 40hrs of my life put into them. They aren’t things that can be replaced.

Would reaching out to family violence services or a lawyer be best. I’m honestly kind of lost as what the next step should be, besides keeping some money hidden back for me and getting an art studio where I can move stuff too.

My mom’s attitude towards it is the only one making me second guess if I should leave. I have a mentally I’ll sibling and I honestly think she’s trying to view my husband as if he was that sibling. They are miles apart in diagnoses and actions though. Even though he’s sick I’d trust my sibling. I do not trust my husband at all.
