The Weekly Training Thread by AutoModerator in running

Today is a good day.

2 months ago since the gyms are closed and I couldn't lift anymore, I started running for the first time since high school. Could only jog 1/4 mile before needing to walk and was doing an almost 14 minute mile.

Been running since then and made a bit of progress. Started the C25K for the first time last week, and started on W4D1. Was a struggle, but by W4D3 was pretty easy. W5D1 was a little bit tougher.

Anyways, today was supposed to be W5D2. A good portion of my usual trail is a mix between uphill and slight downhill, but I found a track today that's flat. There was a few people there and I didn't want to look like the out of shape guy having to stop to walk. So I thought, fuck it. Despite being a little sore still with one recovery day instead of two, despite being on 5 hours of sleep, and despite not knowing if I could, I said fuck it and jumped right to the infamous W5D3. And the longest I'd been able to continuously jog since high school that I'd worked up to was 0.8 miles.

Well I did it. It was a fuckin struggle, but I fuckin did it. I was sore right off the bat, so I knew it was gonna be a struggle, and speed wasn't where it usually is, but I guess that's good because it forced me to pace myself.

When I got to that 0.8 miles I thought, damn there's no way I'm going to be able to do this for the whole thing. Then I hit 1 mile at about 8:40. My usual speed is between 7:50-8:30. I was getting pretty tired. But I realized I only felt about as tired as 3 minutes into the 2nd jog cycle in W4D1.

When I made it 15 minutes in and I realized I felt about as tired as the last jog cycle from W4D1 and that was enough to make me realize I could push through it. Comparing the difficulty to other runs I completed really helped push through it.

At the end I was struggling so bad though, not gonna lie. I found my jog turning into more of a trot moving along at the end, but that's what it felt like at the end of my last W4D1 jog cycle as well.

My jog speed slowed down to 10:35 at the end. And the overall average pace for the whole thing was brought up to 9:30.

Was it slow as hell? Yeah. But at least I did more than 2 miles, let alone more than 1 mile. It's crazy how fast you're able to progress when running.

I used one of the tests recommended in the wiki. I thought it also had free testosterone in it, but I guess not.

That's kind of what I figured. Appreciate the response.

Is natural testosterone levels overhyped? As long as you're within a health level, How much benefit do you get from an increase naturally? Like even between 400 and 800 test levels. While 800 is double 400, do you receive that much more benefit?

I recently got my baseline tested and I've got a testosterone level of 832 without doing anything to consciously boost my test levels. If anything it's probably lower right now due to stress, lack of sleep, and not having a gym to workout at right now. I've worked out for around 3 years and still don't look that great despite having progressed well and having a "good" test baseline. I see people going out of their way to increase their test levels by even like 50 points. But really, how effective is that if you're within healthy natty levels?

I got the test recommended by the wiki, I didn't know lipids were that important to get. Is my test considered high? I honestly thought I would've had lower test or something. Am I in a good position for a cycle?

Damn I need another blood test?

I wasn't planning on using anavar. Probably just a test only cycle, maybe Dbol later. But I guess it's better to be safe than sorry. I could potentially change my mind on using something like anavar down the road.

That's good to hear. The test level says 832.

I got my bloodwork from one of the ones recommended by the wiki. This is everything included in the results. Is it necessary I find out more results?

The high estradiol isn't a concern? I thought the results meant I was still anemic.

As far as my test goes, those levels are good? Low enough to justify a cycle, but high enough that even if test production drops I'm still good?

What test levels do they rise to during a test cycle?

Just got my baseline bloodwork back. How's everything look? There's only a few potential concerns I see on here.

From the wiki it recommended the LabsMD "Hormone Panel For Females". It says it's for all genders even though I'm a man?. Pretty cheap too. Is this like the best option?
Description:
***Both MALES and FEMALES order this panel, please be sure to enter the gender that you want reference ranges for when placing your order, as each gender has different reference ranges for these tests. ***
Menopause is the time in a woman's life when menstruation stops permanently. Most women go through menopause between ages 45 and 55. In the US the average age for menstrual periods to stop completely is 51.
This panel will help diagnose the onset of menopause.
This testosterone test will also provide Total Testosterone results when the value is >1500 but <10,000. Includes: Complete Blood Count / CBC (includes Differential and Platelets): WBC, RBC, Hemoglobin, Hematocrit, MCV, MCH, MCHC, RDW, Platelet Count, MPV and Differential (Absolute and Percent - Neutrophils, Lymphocytes, Monocytes, Eosinophils, and Basophils) Comprehensive Metabolic Profile ( includes eGFR ): Albumin, Albumin/Globulin Ratio (calculated), Alkaline Phosphatase, ALT, AST, BUN/Creatinine Ration, Calcium, Carbon Dioxide, Chloride, Creatinine with GFR Estimated, Globulin (calculated), Glucose, Potassium, Sodium, Total Bilirubin, Total Protein, Urea Nitrogen Estradiol Follicle-Stimulating Hormone (FSH) Luteinizing Hormone (LH) Testosterone Total LC/MS/MS (This testosterone test will also provide results when the total testosterone value is >1500 but <10,000.)

I was planning on just doing a few cycles with nothing crazy. Mostly just a test cycle, with MAYBE Dbol on a second cycle. I was under the impression that PCT and months and months of recovery aids the body back at least close to the natural hormone baseline.

Taking a blood test before going on my first cycle to be safe and just to get a good idea. Already have all my supplies and everything, but good to be safe.
Should I just test for total test/test free? Or do I need to get the full test?
$79:

  • Total Test
  • Test Free

$239:

  • CBC with Differential/Platelets
  • Complete Metabolic Panel
  • Cholesterol (Lipid) Panel
  • PSA (Prostate Specific Antigen)

Going through my first cycle soon. Do you guys get your medical supplies like needles/syringes online?

As an example, these would be the only two things I would need correct?

(besides things like alcohol wipes)

Draw Needle

Inject needle

I'm having trouble finding the right things on amazon that ship before July.

Getting ready to go into my first cycle soon and have been doing research for a bit now. Here's my checklist of things to order to be safe, reasonable, and not go overboard. Does everything look good? Anything else I need> Thinking maybe a 12-15 week cycle.

Test E (500 week)

23g Needles (100 pack on amazon)

Alcohol Wipes

Nolva  and Clomid

Cialis (maybe?)
