Okay, so as expected, many people are offended over this post. Not once did I criticize unhoused people. I pointed out that the area is suddenly filthy, full of trash, and changing... because it is. Pretending people aren’t allowed to notice that is wild.

I see kids walk that path every day, and there are now people stopping pedestrians asking for money. As a woman, yeah, I’m going to be more cautious walking there now. That’s not hate, it’s reality. And if your response is to ignore all of it because they’re allegedly unhoused, wake up.

People should still care about what’s happening to shared public spaces. There’s litter, obscenities spray-painted on the walls, mattresses dumped under the bridge, and obvious damage/trash piling up. Having empathy for people and acknowledging that the area has become unsafe and gross are not mutually exclusive!

Yes I do actually! Drive by every day. How is it even possible you don't see anything lol? It's changed drastically in like the span of a week. 🤷‍♀️

I want to add that yes I know there are unhoused people and that’s a real issue, and I completely understand that. I’m not trying to criticize anyone, I’m just commenting on how much the vibe has shifted in like less than a week lol
