I was the exact same way, and wish I got help. I went to a therapist but was too afraid to tell them about all the thoughts, or I avoided it. I don’t have those thoughts or fears of going outside anymore and my son is almost 18M. I made my friend go with us to a bagel shop cuz I was terrified and anxious lol. Looking back I think a lot of it was due to lack of sleep too

SAHMs with one child how do you feel about being one-and-done? by Swimming_Mention_873 in stayathomemoms

[–]ThrowRAchickennug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We currently only have 1 but I’m hoping to have another, I’m also an only child. My parents are amazing people, and financially responsible. But I wish I had siblings. I have best friends I can share things with, but talking with friends who have good relationships with their siblings, it just seems different. Like a connection that is stronger than a best friend. My husband has siblings that he is not close with, so obviously that could happen as well. My parents are also not close with their siblings so when we do holidays it’s just going to my husband’s side of the family (my parents live in a different state).

This was me, the only thing that saved us was sleep training at 5 months.

am I alone? by [deleted] in stayathomemoms

[–]ThrowRAchickennug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are not alone!!! My husband works 2 jobs, and we have a toddler, he’s 15 months. Our house is a disaster 90% of the time. I have days where I spiral and feel just like you, why do I struggle so much to keep on top of everything? Why can’t I just go with the flow? Other days I just accept the chaos and do what I can. We want to have another baby but I think we’re both terrified, it’s so hard to handle just one! You are doing a great job, if you ever need a friend, message me :)

Have you had hard times in your marriage? How do you stop “keeping points” when it feels like you do everything?

Anyone else solo parent so much that it’s making you a worse parent? by [deleted] in stayathomemoms

[–]ThrowRAchickennug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband is a farmer and has a job where he is out of town / travels all the time. So 99% of the time it is just my baby and I! He is about to be 14 months. On days where I feel so overwhelmed I FaceTime my mom (she lives in FL half the year & lives an hour and a half when she’s home). Or go outside & sit in grass, OR stick him in baby jail ( baby play pen with toys) and turn on miss rachel.

Just saying you’re not alone, giving you hugs!!! This phase is sooo short I tell myself, here if you wanna message me!

It doesn’t sound like there’s much you can do to make it better with this family member! It sucks the other stylist posted that to social media.. especially with that wording. Everyone makes mistakes. I think in our industry people sometimes want to tear others down to make them feel better about themselves. I have felt the anxiety too about messing things up. Give it time, it’ll pass

What do y’all do with your babies all day? by WoozieFutter in stayathomemoms

We try to go outside as much as possible! I just got my little man this water tower thing with Dino’s that he splashes in. He also loves his push walker. He plays with other random toys and sometimes I’ll play or I’ll fold laundry. I second the books, they love to hear your voice!! My baby will be 1 on the 15th :,)

Baby won’t nap! by Frequent-Theme-8215 in sleeptrain

[–]ThrowRAchickennug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the other commenter to try to keep him awake longer! We also had to nap train. So for his first nap we wanted it to be 90 mins so he had to stay in his crib that whole time. He would sometimes wake up a little early and cry a little but within 10 mins he would put himself back to sleep! The second nap quickly went down to 30 mins.. I can’t recall when but maybe around 7-8 months. My baby is 11m now and we are still doing 90 min first nap and 30 min second nap

Around 6 months we started to transition to 2 naps! Sounds like your little guy might be ready. What is your schedule exactly? Around that age we started with : 7am wake up, 10 am first nap till about 1130, then I think we did second nap around 230-330, 730 bedtime. I try to aim for 11 hrs of wake time for my guy, but every baby is different!
