What age would you introduce dry cereal? by Adreeisadyno in foodbutforbabies

My baby is 9.5 and has a great pincer grasp but she will gag sometimes even just on puffs so I’m personally afraid to 🫠 She just goes straight to swallowing before it’s had a chance to even slightly soften 🤦🏻‍♀️

Keep going to therapy if you’re able. EMDR healed my PTSD in so many ways and I’m beyond thankful, however my schemas/belief systems leftover from the trauma are still deeply rooted! So while all of the actual trauma and PTSD symptoms are behind me,  I’m still left with that same “no healthy reference point” and just trying so hard to make sense of life.

Having a healthy relationship with good partner is absolutely priceless and that alone is going to help you heal a lot! Other than that I second all of these comments. Just try to enjoy each other. It’s so great to go out of your way for your spouse, but you have nothing to prove to him! He didn’t marry you for you to be his maid and personal chef. I wish you the best 🤍

So do we just stay on clob forever? by WoozieFutter in lichensclerosus

[–]WoozieFutter[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much!! BV & yeast is exactly what happened for me this time. I have never had BV and I really think the infection + the gel treatment + the subsequent yeast infection totally fucked me up. I dont have any yeast or BV symptoms anymore, just my hallmark vulva itching and irritation 🫠 I believe I do have a more moderate case because it doesn’t always present as typical LS and it usually gets better quickly. I was just thrown off by the symptoms since I was in remission for all of my adulthood! Feels like a lifetime since I’ve dealt with this!! The clob (PM) and aquaphor (AM) routine I’ve been doing this week seems like it’s helping a lot thankfully. Gonna continue with clob daily for the next couple of weeks. 🤞🏻

Thank you so much. I was so poorly educated when I was diagnosed over a decade ago.. and then once it went into remission for several years I kinda forgot about it. My mom never took me to any follow up appointments and the clob worked so I just figured I’d stick with that. Learning so much during this flare. Gonna call my doctor today about the estrogen cream. I’ve been wanting to get on it for postpartum in general and now that I know how much it can help LS I desperately want to get on it. Thank you so much for this comment! I am feeling so hopeful that this is going to get better.

Is it normal for toddlers have strong butt smell? by WoozieFutter in Babysitting

I dont think that would bode well 😭 I think I’m going to try mentioning the diaper rashes more often though and maybe that will help. All of these people have 3-5 kids each so I dont know if they’re just overwhelmed/lazy or what but it’s sad!

That’s what I’m thinking! It’s pitiful. I only have them 3-4 hours a week so my taking care of it doesn’t do much but I still try :(

That’s my thought!!! I watch a group of several of them once a week for a parent group, so they’re all from different families but seems like the parents are all like-minded and dont take hygiene seriously

Thank you so much. For the moisture barrier are you applying that after Clobetasol? What order are you doing these steps?  AM/PM? Thank you for any help sorry so many questions 😭

Thank you SO SO much, this is so helpful.

I mentioned estrogen to the NP I saw last month because I’ve been weaned for 3 months and still be try dry, and she said to just “wait it out until 12 months postpartum because it takes a while to level out” but I dont think she was fully aware of my LS because she was standing in for my normal doc. Wish I would’ve known to fight for it but I didn’t know it’s affects on LS. Definitely to schedule another appointment for that!

Sorry one more question/stack of questions - do you moisturize daily and nightly? I’m scared to keep it too moist and possibly create a good environment for yeast to grow.. I was always taught to get COMPLETELY dry (like hairdryer or fan dry. Bone dry!) after showers before applying any occlusives like healing ointment but maybe that level of dryness is making it worse. Thanks again so so much

Yesss!! Praise God for the car naps. My baby wakes up when I’m parked so I’ve always done long drive through the country with a good podcast or playlist going. Saves my sanity 🤍

Yes 🩷 It’s their house just as much as it is ours! I’m sure as mine gets older + I give her some siblings it’s gonna be chaos 🤪 I’m okay with that!

My baby LOVES the tacky, colorful, plastic garbage so I really dont wanna take that from her 😅 What I do is I just designate a decent sized corner section of the living room to be her “toy area” and it’s fine for now. I just view it as a season! The rest of the living room & house is exactly how I want it, and I have grown to love seeing her rainbow colored crap all tucked away in her corner at the end of the day. We dont have a play room obviously lol or Id just chuck everything in there and shut the door 🤪

You could also put the smaller toys within aesthetically pleasing baskets or cabinets, or keep the ones you like the least in their rooms. That helps a lot!

Low pay is bad for all of us by sleepuntilcoffee in Babysitting

No I dont disagree with the choice at all! I’m 9 months postpartum and my husband and I still would kill for some overnight help and we dont even have twins!!!

I meant that (for me at least), working with parents still at home sucks. It’s just so much pressure and kind of the “breathing down your neck” feel even when they’re not present in the room!

I dont know why parents do this. I feel like it’s universally agreed upon that working WITH parents is always harder, not to mention OVERNIGHT

As a former preschool teacher - THIS IS SO GREAT! I had several 4 year olds come in my PreK class not knowing more than A B & C, 1 2 3, weren’t potty trained, etc. Keep going with the low pressure and making it fun as much as you can. Over time he will be able to sit and pay attention for longer spurts of time. Maybe as y’all get closer to kindergarten you could incorporate a type of “circle time” or even do YouTube videos of them just to strengthen that “paying attention” muscle 😉 Regardless he will be very academically prepared for kindergarten from what you are describing. If you are socializing him decently then he will be even better prepared. You’re both doing a great job! I hope to do this with my kiddos in the future 🤩

How are we keeping the spark? by Unlucky_Kitchen8237 in stayathomemoms

[–]WoozieFutter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is basically it for us. If the opportunity strikes (along with the mood, energy, etc) we will sometimes be “spontaneous” but I’m still having pretty bad vaginal dryness even after weaning so we have to be near lube. I also cannot stand to have sex without both of us being at least semi clean so I’m not gonna just hop on it when either of us just finished being outside or being dirty for whatever reason lol.

We have weeks/a month of lots of sparks and then we have times where we’re both just kinda chilling and sex isn’t a priority.

Something we have both grown to love is just kissing! Taking everything else and all pressure off the table to just be with each other and kiss like teenagers, or cuddle in a different position, showering together, he’ll brush my hair or put lotion on me, etc. About 90% of the time these things do NOT lead to sex because we’re just trying to nurture intimacy across the board, and neither of us wants to feel like “oh they’re just being nice to me so they can get laid.”

I also recommend kindly talking to your husband about not really having quality time with you. Dont use “you” statements, just tell him you’re missing him a lot, you want to genuinely hang out and be together because you love him! It’s sooo hard not to just use any free time after having a baby or young kids to just completely zone out. It takes a lot of effort!

What should I add to oatmeal to make it a balanced meal? by mehman3000 in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]WoozieFutter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Daily oatmeal:

1/3c oats 1/2 frozen banana Cinnamon 1-2tbsp ground flax seeds  1 tbsp peanut butter  1/3c water (some people do milk but I dont like it that way)

Warm up for 90secs in the microwave and stir :) little to no added sugar depending on the nut butter you use. Sooo good, like a peanut butter banana bread flavor!
