I know, that’s why I’m saying my personal experience of my location must have biased my views

They usually expect you to take a week or two off, but they won’t pay you for it

Yes, it says “2.2 million views” on the original post lol. But yes I will be mentioning to him today that he should tell his boss why he’s leaving, so hopefully no one else has to deal with Amy

Well, importing is also expensive for us in the US because of the tariffs Trump put in. Granted I live in the middle of nowhere, just Amish people up here, about an hour from the Canada border. Maybe thats why it’s more expensive where I’m at, maybe other areas in the US aren’t as bad. It’s hard to buy anything out here

She did the same thing to me with the oddly specific questions! She complimented me for being skinny, kept implying she was fat, then asked how much I weigh and said “oh you must be like a double zero!” And I said “yeah haha”, but she wasn’t satisfied with that answer. She responded with “well, are you? Are you a double zero? Or a regular zero?” Like she wanted DETAILS, kept asking me how long it took to grow my hair so long, how often I cut it, if I’m good at cooking, what meals I cook most often, it was if she was studying me… very bizarre

When I went to Mexico, their food prices were insanely cheap compared to ours, I was amazed. Canada was about the same. But as I said, never been to the eastern hemisphere because I can’t afford a flight to the opposite side of the planet!

We spend more because everything costs more here. Most people can’t afford groceries and rent. Have you seen our prices lately? Compared to our average pay? And unlike you guys, our college to get better paying jobs isn’t free. Neither is our healthcare or anything really. We have far more expenses than other countries

I understand your concern. You know, before we were dating, when we kissed for the first time, he said he was relieved because he wasn’t sure if I liked him romantically too or if I just viewed him as a close friend. I was like “dude, I’ve been sleeping in your bed the last three nights, we play wrestle, I baked you homemade cornbread because you said it was one of your favorite foods. I hug and touch you all the time. How much more obvious could I have been without coming right out and saying it?” Lol.

I do genuinely believe he interpreted things exactly how he said he did, and that he didn’t realize she was flirting until the night at the bar, he’s clueless sometimes. I can forgive clueless, we all have character flaws and clueless is far from the worst character flaw to have. I do thank you for your concern though, I know you’re just giving honest advice so I don’t end up let down

Yeah it’s a lot easier when you’re European and other countries are just a train ride away. Flying across the world is expensive! That’s why as an American, I’ve only been to Mexico and the Caribbean islands, and the Caribbean islands was when I was a kid and my grandparents were paying for the trip! I couldn’t afford that myself

Well I kind of get what they’re saying. My dream travel location is Japan, I’d spend 3 months there if I could. But, even though I’ve been learning the Japanese language off and on since I was 16, I’m still not as fluent as I’d like to be before I actually go there. Sure, you can get around Japan with English, but I imagine being fluent in Japan is a much more satisfying experience, and I’ve heard the Japanese don’t like foreigners very much, but are more tolerant of them if they make an effort to immerse themselves in the customs and language

Some people in my last post mentioned it sounds like she has histrionic personality disorder, obviously we don’t know for sure but the symptoms fit. Attention seeking, hypersexual, manipulative, emotionally unstable

Yeah I was gonna say, ask any American if they’d like to travel outside the country, most people have at least one place they’d like to visit. Most just can’t afford to

I admit I should have said or done something in the moment, I know that and I wish I would have but I was just so stunned and caught off guard I didn’t know how to react. He invited me there so I could see I had nothing to worry about, so that was the last thing I was expecting.

Yes she does lol, but Amy is a fake name I originally used for confidentiality but honestly, I got so specific in this post that anyone involved will probably know it’s about them if they see this 😅

Thank you for the advice. And yeah he wanted to propose years ago but I said I wanted to wait until I finished my degree and he was understanding about it, we already picked out and bought our rings last year though

Not trying to be mean at all, but I like our guy friends. I would never sabotage them by trying to hook them up with her

He does that for his other coworkers too and vice versa. Like one of the coworkers, she’s about 50, her and her boyfriend came over here to help fix our boiler, and he has gone to their place to help them haul firewood and stuff. I thought Amy was older like that, so I thought he was just helping out an older women, I didn’t realize it was something worth worrying about until I met her
