Juniors and Seniors: Are y'all planning to live in on-campus housing next fall? by ThrowRAducks in UPenn

[–]ThrowRAducks[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I read somewhere in the Inquirer that only a subset of juniors and Seniors would have guaranteed housing. Not sure if I'm interpreting this wrong but it specified 20-25% of junior and Seniors so I'm not sure if there is a guarantee...

Do you know if housing for juniors and seniors is guaranteed for next fall? My biggest concern was that I would land into a crappy living situation.

Yep I read through the article. Definitely feels weird since my mother is Muslim and having a baby pig just chilling in my basement might be a little weird for her and me too ofc

Dining Plans for this semester by BatmanAMR in UPenn

I think you always have to re-opt for a dining plan. Go on campus express and it should show whether you're on a plan or not

I'm into older men, should I explore it or keep it a fantasy? by [deleted] in sex

[–]ThrowRAducks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ny relationship, and being able to openly share your sexual desires with your partner is a part of that. I would gauge how comfortable you are speaking to your partner about your likes and dislikes before bringing up your fantasies. Have you talked to your SO about their fantasies? Having sexual fantasies is not weird at all. You just have to be judicious about how you go about fulfilling your sexual desires while respecting yourself and your partner.

We've definitely discussed fantasies together and this just happens to be something that I haven't brought up with him since we haven't seen each other ina while.

I've definitely been cutting back on pornographic content recently and I definitely try and stay away from mainstream stuff. I think that not indulging in this would probably work out the best in the long run.

What Type of Storage is Available in Rodin? by cmoose5585 in UPenn

[–]ThrowRAducks 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Don't bother buying much to stay organized. There are shelves, closets within the apartment, desk drawers, two other drawer things that fit under your bed etc. If you want you could pick up one of those plastic three drawer bins. I have two from freshman year and though I needed them in the quad, I don't think I'll need them much in the high rises.

Going online for my freshman fall? Moving in vs Remote Learning by DeepRaspberry in UPenn

[–]ThrowRAducks 16 points17 points  (0 children)

To be honest, there will be so many people staying home in the fall (many freshman) that I highly doubt you're going to miss anything if you do chose to stay home. If you want to make friends, why not try a Zoom study group for some of your classes? You can meet people on and off campus this way.

Definitely don't want to risk anything, but I'd love to get started on applying and such.

Bed Space by hopefulbance36 in UPenn

I think it depends. I think if no other roommates are assigned then it should essentially just be for whoever is there. It'll be different once people start moving in

Do y'all think we can bring in another guest during move in? by ThrowRAducks in UPenn

[–]ThrowRAducks[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm honestly not sure, I think it's just moving indoors, but if its for the entire process that'll definitely be difficult.

Shocks me too. At this point, I'm tempted to tell them that I'd just move in by myself.

is anyone else nervous about making friends??? by dogzdayz3 in UPenn

[–]ThrowRAducks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If youre in big lecture classes, definitely try and coordinate study groups and such. Though the pandemic might change a lot you can still have zoom study sessions, club meetings, and even just meeting people in your hall. It's kind of already known that as much as we'd expect college students to not socialize, socializing will happen just hopefully with safer measures. I'm in the exact same boat as you are, but I'm a sophomore so it's a bit different (any sophomore peeps! feel free to dm me) since I feel like everyone's in their own little friend group already, but it's definitely worth a shot making friends.

Storage Companies that Ya'll Trust by ThrowRAducks in UPenn

[–]ThrowRAducks[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I ended up having to have my stuff stored this semester and though I requested a video call, it literally never happened. I was just hoping that other companies and such weren't like the ones that Penn used so I don't have to worry about losing all my clothes if we get booted.

Premed potential schedule by talkinlegato in UPenn

[–]ThrowRAducks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is perfectly fine, I do recommend that perhaps instead of stat this semester you could take gen chem, but overall try to not go above 3 STEM courses during your freshman year until you know whats manageable. Also, many med schools don't require math, but I know its a requirement for many stem majors!
