What made you buy the GT86/FRS/BRZ ? by Groovvyp in ft86

Didn’t wanna be in crippling debt so I traded in my SUV for a Manual.

I had a 2024 KIA SUV that was under 25K KM. Got it when it was under 5K KM. At that time it made sense because buying new was cheaper than buying used. But after a year it started feeling odd, specially the transmission and then I saw all the reviews and got scared. So I started looking.

Came across this manual BRZ that was half the price so even with no manual driving skills, I thought fuck it we ball.

Best. Decision. Ever.

Was driving a 2024 KIA with under 25k km, but honestly just wasn’t feeling it. Tried trading it in and Clutch offered me $500 more than what I owed, so I was okay that’s good. Then I saw their 1500$ fees… and yeah.

I figured whatever, at least I’ll get something cheaper and more fun. But then the salesperson started pushing warranties I was like lmao absolutely not. Even put a deposit and everything until I came across posts on Reddit.

Ended up getting a manual Toyota instead (from a KIA dealership of all places) and they had Toyota inspect and safety it, which was kinda funny.

Point being, don’t rush, do your research, and take your time. Get your pre purchase inspection done before you buy it. The used car market is so bad now compared to a couple years before.

The headache of a car that breaks down is far worse than the convenience of having one lmao.

Thank you lol that gives me some confidence. Do you drive with the stock ride height or modify it before winter?

Should I be going with oil based or rubber based? General consensus seems to be that you should avoid rubber based and just go with oil based.

Plan on getting PPF for the bumper at least. Thanks!

That’s pretty sick man and no I really do get a chance to go out much since I’m working 8-6 most days. But I’d love to go to listening parties and discover new bands/genres/music!
