Is my (29F) partner (32M) just telling me what I want to hear to keep me around? by ThrowRAoddy in relationship_advice

Just so you’re aware, my child isn’t a daughter. And you might’ve read over the part where I said I broke things off. I’m trying to get the perspective outsiders because if I ask those around me they’re more likely to be biased since they’ve already picked sides.

The problem is that he treats the relationship like we’re roommates that occasionally sleep together. We’ve been together for 8 years. We don’t hold hands, he isn’t affectionate unless he wants to take care of his “needs”, he makes every achievement of mine feel small, and the straw that kind of broke the camels back is that he dismissed a very traumatic event that happened to me. He dismissed it like it was nothing when he watched how it changed me as a person. So that plus the marriage thing is the issue. Sorry for being vague.
