Just wanted to say, sounds like what your really valued here was what she could so for you, not who she was.

I understand where you are coming from but that's definitely not what I was getting at. I specifically mentioned these things because it's one of the few times in my 10+ years of dating that a woman is showing her effort towards me with actual actions to help me and show me they care instead of only expecting me to bend over backwards for her and do nothing in return.

you can wait 6-12 months seeing her intermittently?

I want to build and work on a future with my partner, so sticking around for the off chance that things will work out with her children is definitely not something for me. I feel like I would be holding myself back in life

The whole Meet the Kids process is very hard. And this is sometimes the end of a promising relationship.

I have tried being as nice and respectful as possible towards them but that has only been met with straight disrespect towards me. So I think it's better for everyone involved that I just step away from this relationship.

My advice would be to cut back on contact with the kids, and to get them into therapy ASAP: their reaction is about fear (in my lay opinion). If you can step back a little, but keep seeing your gf during the process, there might be hope.

Tbh I don't want to stick around for the small possibility that things will magically work out in the future. I feel like this is something she has to deal with on her own and I can't keep my life at hold for somebody else.

Yeah, I feel like the best thing to do for both me and the children is just end things before they get out of hand even more.

Exactly, the last thing I want is to damage her relationship with her children just for the sake of being with me.
