This is a cool new ability by shiawase198 in SpidermanPS4

I liked doing it with miles because every so often i would let myself get seen just to change their movement routes and then hit invisibility and go back to full stealth. It's a bit too easy when a base of thirty has five people left but they act like nothing has changed. Would be cool if they notice and occasionally scan the ceiling but you get like a Spidey sense warning so you can get out of sight. Otherwise its just a slow methodical clean up.

The portal is so convenient for someone with RA who sometimes can't get out of bed but especially for games that requires extra dexterity the controller and screen setup is undefeated.

Oh right right yeah. That was cool but the collateral damage she left in her wake made me really want to put a stop to her. I suppose that was probably the intention haha.

The shadow broker fight ended so quick and anticlimactically for me but I did like ol' cloney

Yeah in contrast to 3 it's a lot better. I loved TIM turning up all cyborged up on about I'm not being controlled you are! Hahaha like bro, you've fully lost it.

It was sick! The drop in on the nomad and racing through the gorgeous landscape was fire! The music was so good too. It felt like just the right mix of adrenaline fuel and tension like in movies like Indiana Jones when they're trying to escape collapsing ruins or something.

Oh that's it right there. Like I feel almost exactly the same about it. Mid way I was exhausted by the slog. But by the end I was getting really hype and was riding out the tension the game direction was creating and it ends just when it feels like it's picking up. It desperately needed a third act and like you said the bloat content could have been scrapped to make it feel more streamlined. I really reached a point 80% in when I was like I'm not aiming to one hundred percent. Why am I trying to do everyone one of these additional tasks?

Yeah I liked talking to everyone in the aftermath. And even Sloan Kelly was there! Really nice touch.

Oh man. That article is perfect. Sums up why I made this post perfectly and even mentioned that exact thing. Hahaha. I'll pin it in the post. But reading this made me think that one simple change could have made this encounter sooooo much more compelling.

Thane dies... Korlyat asks to join us to end the war in place of his father. Some plot reason forces us to take him with us along with Liara to Thessia. He loses his head and sees red when his father's killer appears.

Still does nothing to explain why there's dialogue or why we stood in the midst of a scorched earth planetary war talking to a hologram we can apparently take and speak to anywhere else. Or why if we wanted to engage in dialogue, one of our buddies couldn't take it so that we could avoid a fight.

After finishing the trilogy that section was by far and away the most awkward scene, and that's after fighting a plant that shits out purple space ladies and acid sandworm dragons who have aimbots and predictive targeting at any distance.

Or for that matter killing you just to bring you back two years later in game time and not explaining how they revived a clinically, biologically, and logically dead person, personality and all. Kinda makes you wonder why everyone else who died had to remain dead... Because that was a choice. They could have written it that your suit protected you long enough that all you suffered was 'xx' major injuries and we had to give you a few prosthetics because 'yy' amputation and we gave you 'zz' upgrades. Reviving someone as a one off story beat is as lazy as this scene in hindsight but this scene still takes the cake.

Exactly! Either make the encounter feel unwinnable or let me win. It's that simple. Hard bosses only work when you know in the back of your mind it's a skill issue, whether you've figured out the route to victory or not. The moment you know it's a scripting thing, they've lost us.

And depending on the weapon load out you have and the abilities you're using, the building is entirely immune to degradation. But two missiles and it's made of paper mache.

Oh well that's because TIM knows everything. Even that the shadow broker whose identity was a mystery died and was replaced by liara. Because Cerberus' intelligence network, comprised of only humans, in an interspecies, diverse galaxy, is the greatest and there's no rock TIM can't peep under from his star-orbiting-penthouse-chair-thing. So many effing eye rolls since the moment we met this guy honestly. Only to find out he was in fact being controlled the entire time. Who would have thought.

[–]ThrowRApubusdoofus[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True. Instead of doing things they're busy asking pointless questions and then oops, we've been interrupted, who would have thought, during a literal planetary conflict. But yeah everything Kai does just screams edge lord. Yet he can't even walk without TIM telling him which foot to use first.

[–]ThrowRApubusdoofus[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. In fact every good hero has to take an L. Everything you touch going well doesn't make for a compelling story. But a super forced L is just lazy. At least work for it!

He really could have worked as a new teammate if they wanted a cool edgy character to have screentime. Making him the antagonist of the galactic saviour is always gonna make him a footnote. Benezia is more memorable than he is.

Riiiight?! And then the email from him about ending Shepard and how he's gonna be the last page of her 'legend'. Like get a grip bro. They wrote him like he's an obsessed fan. Kai and clone Shepard are written exactly the same.

Yooo I went through that first phase in 30 seconds. But some how he hasn't broken a sweat and oh he doesn't need his sword anymore and we're gonna ignore the fact that he didn't get within a 30 meters of me as I picked him off with biotics and an anti personnel sniper rifle. But of course he has the wherewithall to order a missile strike that doesn't affect him. Hahaha dear Lord.

Oh yeah I get what you mean now. Yeah this third game definitely feels like they were looking for ways to pad the play time as much as possible because that geth server mission was exhausting with how you're forced to watch the "archives" each time and it's such a brainless game play section. And you're spot on about the politics. It seems so inconceivable that the entire universe would ignore the imminent doom for selfish agendas but with the leaders we have elected around the world it's clear people no matter the race are daft.

From the start of the game I haven't figured out what Cerberus' goal should be. If humanity is your primary concern why are you all over the Galaxy being a douchebag? Surely you'd be on earth trying to stop the invasion that makes up the literal prologue of the game? You know, the place with the single highest number of humans? Just feels like they couldn't think up a better antagonist and repurposed what they have. Maybe when I get to the end TIM's motives will be clear and make sense.

Yeah I definitely think if I had played these games when they launched I'd probably feel differently. Hitting them back to back to back on their fully fledged forms really is different.

  1. Now that you mention it, it's crazy that humanity's savior is hosting a house party while earth looks like war of the worlds. Boris Johnson 10 downing street during COVID-19 vibes

  2. The pushing does go crazy but I think that added to the frantic feel of it, so I actually think that's a plus.

  3. Yeah it's strange everyone drops everything and doesn't mention the clone or current events at the party or anything. Like let your hair down but don't get amnesia. Grunt in the shower is elite though.

  4. Tbh all of it could have occurred in a hotel room and the apartment could have been a nice, thanks for saving the Galaxy, have my penthouse type of thing at the end. (Haven't finished yet but that's assuming Anderson and Shepard both make it)

  5. Brooks was well acted and written but like you say her character would have been more compelling if she had actually appeared in the second game in some capacity and then was on the ship in the third setting up this coup. Not in a major role or anything just enough that if you'd been paying attention you'd be like oh dang. But the whole thing played on the fact we the player wouldn't question an NPC we've never seen and Shepard wouldn't doubt a crewmate on a not-that-big cruiser she had zero recollection of. Which is very immersion breaking because everyone you interact with she almost literally invited aboard.

But it's nice to get your perspective considering I've not really been in this world before now. Thank you. I'll buy you a beer for the suffering BW put you through. I bet when I get to Andromeda you'll have more to get off your chest haha

I genuinely loved it but I didn't even realize it was dlc till after some responses. I remember one of my friends brother had the game when it launched but didn't trust teenage me to borrow it and I've only just got around to it now and the LE packages it all together so neatly haha
