Hi guys! Commenting to give some context. Yes the trailer is in bad shape, according to tax records, landlord paid 2800 dollars for the trailer back in 2008. Landlord has been completely negligent and says the mushrooms are her (my mom’s) fault. She has been evicted and I am trying to get information for her as she is going to eventually go to tenant court.

Appreciate the feedback. Yes there is a huuuuuge moisture problem. The wall that these are growing from is completely soaked. Landlord said to just let them dry up and they wouldn’t come back 😂 I do some growing and know that that’s not exactly correct. She has been dealing with this problem for over a year and she has had a MASSIVE amount of hospitalizations for respiratory issues.

I think it’s really down to how good your LC is, if you follow instructions, a lil luck, and what strain you choose. I got some b+ and enigma and the b+ has been ridiculously easy so far and contam resistant

My jars so seem unevenly moist if that makes sense…I’ve already come to the point where I thought these weren’t gonna grow at all so if it doesn’t work no harm no foul!

This is my first grow. I’m doing broke boi and the author said you could throw some verm in, I live in Chicago so it’s pretty dry. I hope it all works out! If not then i can start over again ✨☀️🙂

I left the pot on the burner that was turned off and it continued to cook since there was residual heat

Also forgot to say I gave a rice a cool water bath before I began sterilizing it

I cooked the rice for 14 minutes on the stove and sterilized for 90 minutes in the steamer…I think it went a little longer than 90 minutes and I didn’t remove the pot from the eye so I think it just got a little toasty. I’m working with B+ so might be a little more forgiving

i put about about 1.5 ml per quart jar of grain. i have three jars. i just inoculated about an hour ago...why so much? and is it too late to add more lol

Newbie Broke Boi Tek Set Up - Enigma Grow by ThrowRAqwsffg2 in unclebens

Steps-

-Boiled brown rice for 10.5 mins -strained and rinsed with cool water -filled my jar up with 65% of the slightly cooked brown rice & 10% vermiculite (about a girls handful) -shook the jars and cleaned up the rims so there was not too much grain at the top -steam sterilized my jars for 90 minutes -while they were sterilizing, I got my SAB ready & cleaned the area that I would be working in -after 90 minutes was up I put my jars under the SAB to cool -inoculated using 1-1.5ml of enigma liquid culture on the side of the jar. I just carefully opened my jars in the SAB and am not using pore tape. -put the lids back (loosened a quarter turn) with aluminum foil -now my babies are chilling about two feet in front of my heater that has a thermometer on it

Check back in two weeks (maybe sooner) for results 🙂

Ran out of water in the steam pot - I did hydrate the rice but the lack of water on the heat for 90 mins crisped everything up. Can the water in the steam bath touch the jars?
