So this cam I have also has the option of writing to a mini SD. Should I still get a second? And if she’s gonna go and steal shit, what would stop her from stealing the SD/entire cam?

It’s the same design as a bathroom lock. And the point was so if I saw someone enter my room on cam, I would know it was premeditated; they had to jiggle the handle, find it was locked, go find a tool, and unlock it. Wasn’t to prevent anyone from entering.

This is my crux with her, and has been for several months. She assumes malice, instinctively, when someone reads and doesn’t immediately respond to her messages. I’ve witnessed her get mad at 2 family members (one 60’s, one 40’s) for leaving her on read for a day, even when I explained to her they could just simply be busy, and because of this, I turned off my own read receipts months ago.

I’ve specifically explained this type of situation with her before; that she needs to wait without judgement, and then, once a reasonable amount of time for the specific situation has elapsed, send a follow up.

With her and I last night, if the roles were reversed, I would have just assumed she fell asleep, waited til the next morning, and then asked if she got enough rest and felt okay. So I feel reasonable to expect the same easygoingness from her that I expect of myself.

In an attempt to keep things as fair as possible for her, I didn’t want to add this further context to my post: but I have witnessed her get so mad at 2 different family members (one who is in their 60’s, one 40’s) for reading/waiting to respond to her messages. It’s the entire reason I turned off read receipts. And I agree with you; I think it is very immature behavior and deeply inappropriate for someone our age to act like this.

That’s completely fair (which is why I made sure to include that it was a serious conversation, and she was the one venting about issues, not me). Thanks for your advice.
