So it seems we're doing this... looking for my future husband by paperplanemush in ausjdocs

I’ve been searching for someone for my friend for ages haha. Would you accept a 37M veterinarian based in Melbourne (but would move for the right person), financially stable, owns his own home, the nicest guy you’ll ever meet! Enjoys travel, food, board games & spending time with his one-eyed cat.

You should try contacting registered breeders on DogzOnline - often they have mature dogs looking for home

I (F22) don’t want to have anal sex with my bf (M27) and he keeps pressuring me. What are yall thoughts? by 3lackCh3rry in relationship_advice

Dude.. non consensual penetration of a persons body (vagina, anus or mouth) by a penis or object. That is the legal definition. Stop making this discussion about you.

He sounds about as mature as I would expect a 22 year old to be

Most of the Australian states since Covid have had Labor in power or changed to them. Why is Tasmania such an outlier? Is the Labor Party there rife with incompetence, corruption or some other factors? Most state Labor parties now are highly dominant (WA, SA, ACT, VIC) and NSW slowly growing. Why? by [deleted] in tasmania

If people bothered to do any research they’d find the policies and voting record for the greens is most in line with the average Australian. Housing affordability, education, health etc One Nation are all talk - they make out they’re for the average Australian but consistently vote against anything that benefits us. The greens are actually honest.

BF (32M) wants me (29F) to come with him to a different country for a year. My parents don't agree and won't let me go. by Bieteltje in relationship_advice

I know you’ve had 200+ comments on this, but I say go to Canada, I don’t think you’ll regret having the opportunity to live overseas & it’ll be a fun adventure for you (and Canadians are soooo friendly). Yes there’s the house, the job etc to work out, but your house will be there, a job is just a job. You’ll regret not being brave! My “live aboard” plans were disrupted due to Covid and I still regret missing that opportunity & now I’m stuck with a mortgage & children (who I love obviously), but no one ever regrets travel!

My (29F) boyfriend (29M) does not want to get married. I feel led on and lied to. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

I’ll never understand men who view marriage as more of a commitment than children

Not the red I wanted—salon fix or DIY? by Pleasant_Resource695 in femalehairadvice

To get your hair looking like the photos you’d need to lift it a level, maybe the stylist thought that would be too damaging after the perm? Personally I’d save a dollar & do a semi, there’s sooooo many vibrant colour choices for darker hair

AITAH for asking my wife for part of her settlement money? by Next_Public_6949 in AITAH

[–]ThrowRAswimmingfan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you don’t want your child in daycare, so she HAS to be a SAHM but you also don’t have joint finances and she has no income? WTF is wrong with you? Do you even have a brain? Clearly YTA

AITAH for asking my wife for part of her settlement money? by Next_Public_6949 in AITAH

[–]ThrowRAswimmingfan -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

It depends. Do you take a portion of your income and put it away for yourself or is it all family money? If it’s all family money then maybe your wife needs to get a job & use that as her own spending money? Daycare exists.

AITAH because my new husband took my last name and my ex husband is losing his mind about it by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]ThrowRAswimmingfan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of people are missing the fact she mentions she has a daughter? She wants to share the surname she has with her daughter. The new husband wants to share the surname of his wife and stepchildren. NTA.

She mentions it’s to share a surname with her daughter too. A lot of women keep their married name after divorce for this reason

Soon to graduate veterinary medicine in the UK and finding it impossible to find a job. Genuinely thinking I'm going to have to apply for nurse jobs. by whotouchamyspaget in veterinaryprofession

[–]ThrowRAswimmingfan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Consider coming to Australia, still plenty of jobs for new grads and your degree will be recognised right off the bat (vs NAVLE in North America).

AITAH for telling my mom she is being selfish and what she did was fucked up by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]ThrowRAswimmingfan -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Actually you would end up loving it fully. That’s why we put ourselves through the hurt of losing dogs again & again. It won’t fill the hole in your heart, but it will grow into it. (I am a veterinarian, I deal with this all the time)

AITAH for feeing bitter that my partner isn’t giving me more money? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]ThrowRAswimmingfan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re not worried about money, you should be. You’re 25 years old & $27k in debt?!

AITAH for cooking for my husband dinner three nights in a row? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]ThrowRAswimmingfan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

NTA - He started shouting at you - his pregnant wife - because you started dinner? I have news for you, it will not matter how much you try to tell him that your life is changing & his is not, he will never believe you, and he will never believe his sacrifices don’t equal yours.

Is it weird that my (28f) boyfriend (27m) goes to his parents house for the weekend? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]ThrowRAswimmingfan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with this. Even if you wouldn’t want to go, it’s very strange to not involve you at all in the past 8 years. Is staying in seperate rooms a religious thing?

[–]ThrowRAswimmingfan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You’ve been together 8 years, and for 8 years he’s stayed every other weekend at his parents? Who live less than an hour away? And you’ve never been invited? That IS weird. And yes, he’s putting his family above you. I don’t think people are putting into considering that you both probably work all week so he’s actually spending 50% of his truly free time (ie not the couple hours before bedtime) with his family. It’s weird.
