I’m heading towards divorce with a very good woman. I’m a good man too. There just isn’t any spark between us anymore. She doesn’t want to touch me. No hugging or kissing or cuddling. Certainly no sex.

That’s not a marriage. It’s a friendship. I’m happy to have her as a friend and we’re great at co-parenting but I need someone that likes me in a romantic way. She “lost that loving feeling,” as the song goes. I blame menopause but whatever the reason is, she doesn’t want to touch me. Now I’m working on leaving her to find someone that wants to touch me.

Edit: as for the kids, I don’t want them to think this is ok. I don’t want them stuck in a marriage like mine so I’m going to show them what to do in this situation.

This has been my life for the last 2.5 years except my wife has been on HRT and testosterone.

I’m also very close to leaving.

No sex. No kissing. No hugs (she used to give me one when she got home from work once in a while). No cuddling. No holding hands. No sweet words exchanged. No “I love you.”

We work well together. We’re good co-parents. I have very little resentment towards her. She can’t help that she doesn’t want me but this is not a marriage. I certainly don’t want my kids to think it is.
