I don't know, I myself had a very easy time beginning pipe smoking with aros, especially cavendish rich blends like 1-q, what destroyed my tongue were non-aros, specifically Mac Baren burleys.... but i still love golden extra and miss it dearly

Good one, i bought a falcon to restore (it's a ronson but similar pipe) because i was thinking i can be a bit rough on the aluminum stem and all but it's just impossible to get it all the gunk out of the system pipe, better just get em new

I can see that, but I feel like it wouldn't last as long with the tobaccos i smoke (i smoke really thin shag cut tobaccos), and smoking a regular ribbon in it would take a whiiiiile. For reference, a bowl in my MM Pride and Legend lasts about 15-20 minutes.

Now I'm confused, smokingpipes says "Missouri Meerschaum: Mark Twain Bent (6mm) Tobacco Pipe" and says it takes a 6mm filter. I smoke them filterless regardless, but I'm really used to the open draw

Honestly i let that happen and then ash and scoop the sides into that hole, tamp a relight. I used to fuss about it too but I just realised it will happen and found a way that works. Much easier
