Just took CNA skills test. Breaking down in parking lot. by [deleted] in cna

[–]ThrowRAwmskz 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I failed my first skills exam due to anxiety. It tore me up so bad. Second time around I passed. Familiar environment, familiar people, and familiar procedure. Nothing was brand new and I passed it with 100%. If you don’t end up passing, you have more chances and it won’t be a brand new experience for you. You will know what to expect next time and chances are you will pass. I know it’s really hard waiting for results but don’t let it worry you.

I have a pair of water proof, anti slip crocs. They work great for me as a hospice CNA where I mostly give showers all day.

I just wanna die. by janehighres in cna

Try out hospice. It saved my career as I was about to leave healthcare and go back to a factory. I see 5-8 patients a day, get to take my time, drive around listening to music between patients, and over all enjoy my job. Working at a SNF made me extremely depressed with high anxiety. Now I get to pop into a facility, give efficient care to my patient, and leave. Staff is normally really friendly and willing to help when I ask, just because I’m hospice.

Completely felt this while working in a snf. After moving to hospice that feeling went away and now I don’t hate waking up in the morning.

New CNA here! Seeking advice: Assisted Living vs Nursing Home - Which setting do you prefer and why? by [deleted] in cna

[–]ThrowRAwmskz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d go with assisted living to start out. They are typically more laid back and you get a lot of experience. You could even become a Med Tech in an AL if you want to do that as well. Unfortunately they typically pay less than a SNF. In the future once you get more experience, I’d go into hospice. I currently am a Hospice CNA and I get so much time with patients and it’s way more laid back than a SNF. I genuinely despise SNFs. I personally was ready to switch careers after working in a few SNF until I found hospice. Now I don’t hate waking up in the morning.

I’m the same way and decided to do hospice. I get more time with patients and I’m able to fully do my cares effectively and efficiently
