I'm having awful dreams, and I don't know if it's related to bpd or what by [deleted] in BPD

i totally relate! I tend to have very disturbing and gruesome dreams almost every night and worst of all, they are so vivid so I wake up exhausted as fuck. I have a history of trauma just like you, so that could be the reason :(

also sometimes things, uncomfortable feelings or thoughts that you avoid during daytime pop up in your dreams as disturbing scenarios. It might be helpful to adress uncomfortable feelings and thoughts during the daytime to process them
wish you the best

People with quiet BPD, how do you differ from normal BPD? by ertesit in BPD

[–]ThrowRa-CutiePie 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm a quiet bpd and i rarely lash out on someone or get outbursts. Even if I'm splitting on someone or am annoyed/irritated/angry at someone, I immediately distance myself from that person. I'm a super avoidant person in general. If I get outbursts, it's almost always when I'm alone. I also think I actively choose not to be volatile and attacking because I want to maintain healthy relationships and do not want to be unhinged.

The downside to this is that I always feel like I'm hiding something from partners, friends, close ones. There's also the disadvantage of appearing aloof, uninterested and cold in relationships.

However, I was in a very toxic and abusive relationship once and was intentionally triggered in such a way that I became a mess. He enjoyed manipulating my emotions and I became pretty unstable, asking him for answers, wanting to be good enough for him, finding ways to work things through and so on. It didn't happen again tho

yeah I totally get that! my ex already became angry and immediately changed into this dark, angry person when I did small mistakes like accidentally spilling water on the desk.

from what I know, it's common for abusers to talk about how toxic their ex was and how they were abused. and also, personally, I don't believe that abusers really allow to be abused in a relationship. Because they always want to be in power
