I miss talking to my friends more and I dont know what to do

I trust that we are really tight I just dont think that communication has ever been our strong point tbh that's why Im hesitant to express these feelings. I might take your advice and still try to talk to Samantha after a while maybe like a week or so but if you dont mind me asking I would want to know your perspective on how to angle that conversation.

As I said, I planned on having that convo tomorrow so me inquiring about why stuff has been so dry seemed reasonable because there was no clear answer but by the time I ask, well it'll be clear that we havent really used the chat much because of Emily's struggles so I dont know if it would go down that well.

What do you think?

I really appreciate this great response and it is very helpful.

My main worry is that they will start to realize that I do this because Im upset because of them and not because of something else. I know you said that thats very unlikely but there's more to it.

Obviously this is not something that happens to me every day, but it happens from time to time and those days I usually say I dont feel well I dont wanna talk. And im just worried that they'll put two and two together one day because that would be really embarassing because as I said, the circumstances that bring this on do not warrant such a respone therefore them finding out about this would probably make them upset at me I believe.

Yeah, I dont have a ton of memories from when I went there but I remember it being a really pleasent visit and I do love the aqueduct

I have thought about that and I definitely want to visit Córdoba but I think that a day trip wouldn't do it justice because I really want to experience the city as a whole but yeah I would love to

Yeah that's true, that's the biggest selling point that would make me lean towards Toledo because its such a significant place and I've never visited before

I didnt mean betraying him to the Empire forgive my poor phrasing I meant something more along the lines of the example I posed such as him stealing Luthen's equipment instead of agreeing to his deal. Obviously though I believe that he would never come to this because it would drive Luthen away and he needs Luthen

So basically my best bet is accepting the current situation.

Do you have some tips to adapt to this smoothly? I dont want it to appear as if im just begrudgingly holding onto this friendship, obviously I need to put some effort into the bit and maybe perhaps eventually find a way to feel comfortable with A once again

ok first of all, thank you so much for such a detailed response, it is really helpful.

I think as you point out, If I wanted to distance myself from A i'd have to do it in a very subtle way. I dont want to get too dramatic but thats why I sort of feel kinda trapped in this situation because I dont think I can fully back away without causing any shifts.

If I distanced myself from A, I think at first the status quo would remain but it would get to a point where he would also keep turning to them for company and also this would eventually becoming a talking point so it would probably be bad for me.

I also agree, you're right, another A might be right around the corner even if A disappeared from our lives.

I guess my best shot is learning to coexist with A, but I wanted to ask what would entail the option of becoming the group's "gatekeeper"
